Community Engagement & Development Worker

Home Based (with travel throughout the South Wales Coastal Path region)

£24,636.15 per annum

Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a Community Engagement & Development Worker to join our team.

In this exciting role, you will have the chance to help us grow our services, increase our volunteering numbers and enable older people to engage with and shape their local community. 

As a Community Engagement & Development Worker, you will help to grow and deliver our community services throughout the South Wales Coastal Path region. 

Supporting our Growth in Social Action strategy, you will establish new volunteer-led groups to deliver services that support older people and enable them to get involved with their community. 

Specifically, you will: 

- Inspire your local communities to take action to support older people 

- Help to plan and deliver a community engagement programme and initiatives 

- Recruit, train, support and enable Volunteer Leaders to succeed 

- Act as a link between local leaders to share best practice 

- Maintain strong communications with Volunteer Leaders and Co-ordinators 

Interested? To be considered, you will need: 

- Experience of delivering community development and engagement activities 

- The proven ability to work successfully with volunteers 

- Project management skills, gained in a fast-paced development setting 

- The ability to motivate and sustain community action

Proactive and enthusiastic, as a Community Engagement & Development Worker, you’ll have excellent communication skills. You’ll also be able to motivate and inspire others, as well as effectively prioritise your workload. 

This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week.
