Service Co-ordinator – Part Time (Contract)
Manchester, Greater Manchester (with occasional travel to the Manchester Royal Infirmary)
£8.57 per hour

Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a part-time Service Co-ordinator to join our team on a fixed-term contract, starting on the 20th April 2020 and ending on the 1st November 2021.

Within a welcoming and team-focused environment, you will have the chance to undertake great training and make a positive difference to staff, visitors and members of the community.

As a Service Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in delivering our Supporting Your Recovery Service, co-ordinating both the On Ward and Home From Hospital service.

You will support patients’ recovery and successful hospital discharge through the Supporting Your Recovery service. Our Home from Hospital service helps for the first 12 weeks after leaving the hospital, ensuring patients reconnect with their community with the aim of reducing recovery time, isolation and the chance of readmittance.

In this diverse role, you will:

- Support the recruitment, training and support of Volunteers
- Ensure growth and engagement of the services
- Maintain strong partnerships with the NHS Board
- Action referrals from local stakeholders
- Record all relevant data

Interested? To be considered, you’ll need:

- Knowledge and understanding of the NHS, commissioning groups and local authority commissioning including health and social care bodies
- Excellent communications skills at all levels
- The ability to act on your own initiative within agreed parameters
- The ability to proficiently use standard IT systems
- At a minimum, GCSE level qualifications in Maths and English at grade A* - C (or equivalent)

This is a part-time role, working 14 hours per week, ideally over two full days.

The closing date for this role is the 6th March 2020, with interviews scheduled for the 16th March 2020.
