Job description

The Role

The Programme Lead will be responsible to the Drive Director for the successful co-ordination of partnership working and implementation of the pilot project across five London boroughs.

The Pilot Project aims to improve responses to families experiencing domestic abuse that are being supported by Children’s Social Care (CSC) via a co-ordinated multi-agency response to ensure that the perpetrator is held responsible and accountable for change. This is centred on increased safety and space for action for child and adult victim-survivors.

This pilot project incorporates:

  • Assessment and case management of the perpetrator to ensure the right interventions are in place, including routes to behaviour change interventions
  • Where a victim-survivor wishes to remain at home and it is safe to do so, the project will seek alternative, diversionary accommodation for the perpetrator of abuse
  • Specialist domestic abuse support will be provided to victim-survivors

The project also seeks to leverage systems and cultural change within CSC and Housing through:

  • Capacity-building training to enable CSC to effectively hold the abusive parent to account
  • Work with Housing teams on accommodation pathways to shift thinking and approaches in relation to the prevention of family homelessness for child and adult victims and seek to support the protection and continuation of positive family and community support networks/assets.

The Partnership network for this project includes the Drive Partnership plus Respect Safe & Together Training Team; Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) and Cranstoun as the service delivery partner – who will collectively work alongside Local Authority Housing and CSC teams across five London boroughs.

This is an innovative project, piloting a new approach, funded by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, the Home Office and the National Lottery Community Fund. You will lead in the first year of delivery on what we hope to develop into a three-year programme. You will have a keen interest in innovation and development with experience and expertise in service delivery, the mobilisation and implementation of new services and the effective management of partnership relationships. You will work with the Drive Partnership Management Team to ensure fidelity – across the partnership network – to a core model of work whilst taking an approach that is flexible and effective in meeting the needs of each site. You will take a collaborative approach and be comfortable working in an environment of change and uncertainty. You will be expected to regularly brief MOPAC and other senior stakeholders on progress against project milestones, reflective learning and risk management. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the model in preparation for potential future delivery.
