We are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with solid business development experience to help us grow our commercial contracting portfolio. We have a robust income base of approximately £20m/year comprising primarily grant funding from statutory and institutional donors.
The Business Development Manager is a new post in the newly reformed Funding Team which is responsible for overseeing investment in to the development of new income streams. Commercial contracts already make up a small proportion of our income; the challenge for this new post is to achieve year on year growth by helping to position Saferworld in the commercial tendering market, building up network and partnership opportunities for joint and consortia working and supporting colleagues in our ten country and policy/advocacy programmes and our affiliates in the US and Europe to identify opportunities and develop high quality bids.
