Job Description

The NCS Wave Co-ordinators will work during the summer period to deliver a range of activities under the guidance of a Phase Lead. You will work in collaboration with other Wave Co-ordinators to ensure a quality experience for young people accessing the National Citizen Service programme. You will be responsible for overseeing multiple teams of young people and their associated staff members. NCS runs between a Monday and Friday over a course of 4 weeks; the 20 days are broken down as follows:-

  • Week 1 - Activity based residential located in Colomendy, North Wales
  • Week 2 - Skills based residential located at Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Week 3 - Social action project planning based in a local community venue (Salford/Trafford)
  • Week 4 - Delivery of community project comprising of 30 hours volunteering

Wave coordinators will ensure that pre-organised activities are delivered to a high standard whilst upholding and promoting safeguarding, behavioural and health & safety procedures. You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to supervise and support a cohort of Group Leaders, Group Assistants and NCS Graduate Volunteer Mentors.

There is a requirement for the post holder to be flexible in their working patterns and be expected to work evenings and residentials away from your home base during the first 2 weeks of the programme.
