We need a creative, experienced, and committed advice worker to join our accredited advice service. You will be supporting refugees, asylum-seekers and other new migrants to understand and realise their rights, improve their financial circumstances and achieve their ambitions. You will be working alongside two other advice workers and will have specific responsibility for developing links with local schools.
As a member of a small, supportive team, you will need to be able to work independently and on your own initiative but we welcome fresh ideas and collaboration to strengthen our work.
Clear and respectful communication is at the heart of what we do so excellent writing skills are essential. The ability to speak an additional language (especially Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Pashto or Tamil) would be a huge asset but is not a pre-requisite.
A profound commitment to human rights and evidence of working within an accredited advice service (AQS) will be required along with a willingness to train to become an immigration adviser to at least OISC level 1.
This is a one-year fixed term contract at present (subject to funding). It is our intention to seek further funding to make this a permanent position.
All applicants should submit a CV and covering letter outlining their experience, interests, skills and motivation for applying for this role.
Applications WITHOUT a covering letter will not be considered.
We will interview as soon as sufficient suitable candidates apply as we are looking for as swift a start as possible
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
