A little about the role...
We’re looking for someone who can bring their skills, experience and knowledge to help us reach, engage and inspire our different audiences. This is a crucial role that will take responsibility for developing and delivering a best-in-class media strategy to successfully engage with our audiences including callers, donors and supporters as well as opinion formers to help us achieve our vision that fewer people die by suicide.
Someone dies by suicide every 90 mins in the UK and Ireland. Every single one of these deaths is a tragedy and everything we do at Samaritans is working towards our vision that fewer lives are lost to suicide. We campaign for change that can save lives and we equip people with the skills to look after their mental health and emotional wellbeing, as well as be there for others. Samaritans’ volunteers in 201 branches are here day and night, 365 days a year, to listen and give people the space to share how they’re really feeling.
You’ll be based at our friendly head office on a beautiful millpond in Ewell, Surrey. Just a 30-minute train journey from Waterloo and 15 minutes from Wimbledon. Please note, some out of hours working and travel may be required.
