A little bit about the role...

We are looking for a Lived Experience Researcher to join our team to help ensure our services and influencing work are based on the best available evidence. This post is critical to the effective delivery of our helpline and our wider suicide prevention work.

In this role you will lead the design and implementation of a new research panel of service-users and people with lived experience. You’ll generate new and useful service-user and lived experience insights to help Samaritans develop its services, influencing work, and inform decisions across the organisation. Reporting to the Senior Research & Evidence Manager as part of a busy and ambitious External Affairs department, this role plays a key part in achieving Samaritans’ vision that fewer people die by suicide. You will be an experienced researcher who is highly organised, and able to manage projects and deadlines with ease. You will have significant experience of a wide range of research methodologies – from user research techniques to surveys and online focus groups – including with people with lived experience of suicide or self-harm.
