The Samson Centre for MS is a self-funded charity providing invaluable physiotherapy and exercise for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. Based in Guildford, we have around 170 members, all of whom have MS.
The Fundraising Manager role is needed to generate voluntary income towards the ongoing operating costs of the Centre. Building links with local community gruops, businesses and individual supporters and leveraging these to bring in income. To lead on fundraising strategy and planning, working with the Centre Manager and Trustees. To write successful bids for funding from charitable trusts and foundations and other statutory funders. To lead on social media presence for the Centre and update Facebook, Twitter etc. To coordinate volunteers for fundraising events as and when required. To attend networking events to increase awareness of the charity and services provided.
Requirements for the role include:
Demonstrable experience of generating income and meeting targets
Experience of completing grant making trust making applications, ideally corporate fundraising and community fundraising experience too.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident at presenting to audiences.
Ability to work independently, self-motivated.
Experience of building strong local networks and relationships with supportres.
Ideally based locally and has the use of a car.
