Job Description

Do you want to be part of an organisation that fights for children every single day? Then join us as HR Advisor, acting as the first point of contact for managers and employees on employee relation matters.

In our Support Services department, we fight for children every single day. We provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As HR Advisor you will be responsible for assigned business areas, delivering employee relations and other generalist expertise and advice to line managers ensuring alignment with the values, policies and procedures of the organisaiton. You will also be responsible for providing transactional support and advice to line managers on all aspects of employee relations and people management issues. In addition you will:

  • Responsible for handling people issues and requests from employees in relation to terms and conditions of service
  • Monitor and advise on root causes, working with HR Business Partners to identify and implement actions to address
  • Coach and support line managers to ensure policies and procedures are applied in a fair and consistent manager
  • Review and update the HR System and case management log in collaboration with line managers to ensure that there is accurate data and MI can be maintained and produced
  • Support on change programmes including TUPE and other projects as allocated by the Employee Relations Manager.

To be successful you will have experience of interpreting, advising and implementing a full range of HR policies and procedures, including organisational change and restructures. You will be an associate or chartered member of the CIPD by education or experience. You will also be an influencer and decisive thinker with the courage to challenge, you will have strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and effective advice and coaching on a range of HR issues. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of managing a wide range of employee relations cases
  • Demonstrable knowledge of employment law and best practice in the full range of HR policies and procedures
  • Demonstrable experience of working at HR Advisor level
  • Experience of providing HR advice and support to managers and staff at all levels in fast-paced, complex organisations
  • The ability to prioritise and plan work in order to adhere to deadlines.
