Job Description

We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to work in partnership with Executive Directors and their senior leadership teams to lead and deliver on the people aspects of our business priorities ensuring alignment with our wider  People strategy.

Human Resources plays an essential role as we fight for children every single day. We provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

In this senior-level post you will operate in a broad strategic and operational HR Business Partner role working closely with your assigned client groups to support the  development and implementation of the divisional strategies. Working  in partnership across the HR team you will diagnose, analyse and develop solutions and, ensure alignment with our wider Save the Children UK HR strategy. 

As part of the HR senior leadership team, you will contribute to all aspects of our overall HR agenda and leadership of the wider HR team. Similarly, as part of the Corporate Senior Leadership Team you will contribute to the delivery of the organisation-wide strategy and agenda. In addition you will:

  • Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders in the assigned Divisions, coach leaders to lead change effectively and enable the business to achieve efficient and effective structures.
  • Drive influence, providing advice and support to the cultural and people aspects of organisational change, structure, people process and business improvement initiatives, to improve organisational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Take a lead role for the recruitment of Corporate Senior Leadership Team recruitment, in partnership with Recruitment & Onboarding Manager.
  • Drive organisational performance improvement through people-related MI analysis at a Divisional level.
  • Provide operational HR support on issues relating to senior leaders, and to support delivery in the wider HR team as required (approximately 20% of time).

To be successful you will be MCIPD qualified or equivalent and will have the proven ability to lead on and deliver HR Strategies in highly complex and fast-changing environments. You will have previous experienced influencing at a senior leadership level and navigating internal politics. A skilled influencer and excellent team player, you will also have:

  • Strong delivery mentality and able to work autonomously.
  • Highly motivated and resilient self-starter with good impact and the ability to gain people’s trust and confidence.
  • An excellent and highly visible team player.
  • Proven ability to lead by example in challenging situations, think objectively and strategically to build organisational effectiveness.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with proven experience of managing and implementing complex projects and strategic change initiatives.

Previous experience of delivering international HR in a complex organisation would be an advantage.
