Job Description

Do you want to be part of an organisation that fights for children every single day? Then join us as Marketing Evaluation & Learning Expert Lead, driving up Save the Children’s marketing effectiveness by identifying and pursuing opportunities to make step changes in campaign effectiveness in 2019 and embedding a change of culture and capability across Save the Children’s teams.

As Marketing Evaluation & Learning Expert Lead, you will be part of a marketing effectiveness project team, working hand in hand with stakeholders across two Directorates: Fundraising and Marketing (F&M) and Policy Advocacy and Campaigns (PAC), to review and consolidate learning across and activity and embed this in future plans and execution. You will work with campaign owners to build their understanding and judgement on marketing effectiveness by reviewing plans and results with them, designing training and defining standards. In addition you will:

  • Identify opportunities to apply learning to up-coming activities and to our overall marketing plan, working with stakeholders to ensure these are followed through into execution
  • Identify opportunities for better integration, cost saving, budget reprioritisation or simplification
  • Create a culture of learning, curiosity and critique around marketing effectiveness, across F&M and PAC teams
  • Set high-level principles and key metrics for measurement and evaluation, working closely with our Strategy and performance team
  • Facilitate working sessions to ensure this learning is adopted and applied going forward.

To be successful you will have extensive experience of evaluation marketing effectiveness, across off and online and including both brand and activation/direct response activity. As well as good commercial acumen, you should have a proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders to action recommendations and achieve higher ROI. In addition you will have:

  • Excellent analytical skills, coupled with great communication skills, to research, analyse and interpret information and to summarise complex issues for different audiences and cultures
  • Proven experience of building capability across a diverse set of stakeholders, creating and embedding common approaches and changing the culture around marketing evaluation and learning
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to et buy-in quickly and work collaboratively
  • The ability to inspire and mobilize people from diverse business areas, to engage and adopt learning.
