Job Description

We are looking for a highly communicative and efficient Onboarding Administrator to deliver a high quality, responsive Recruitment pre-employment check and onboarding service to the business.

Our Support Services department provides leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation and ensuring our resources are used to maximum effect. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

You will be responsible for supporting the recruitment process and providing administrative support to the wider HR Team. In addition, you will:

  • Manage the end to end on-boarding process of candidates and SCUK employees, including liaising with line managers, candidates, and our suppliers to conduct the necessary employment screening checks
  • Complete all required DBS/IPC checks as well as references, right to work and proof of ID checks for all new joiners in line with Save the Children UK’s policies
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key stakeholders including our background screening and occupational health suppliers, the child safeguarding team, Recruitment and the HR Advisor and Business Partner teams
  • Produce correspondence including offer letters and contracts, contractual change and leavers letters
  • Assist in the production of MI, such as new joiner surveys, and other related recruitment data as required.

With proven experience of working in a fast paced and customer focussed environment in compliance and/or recruitment administration, you will have the ability to deliver results and communicate with impact. In addition, you will have:

  • The ability to cope well with a high volume of varied work and be able to work on your own initiative as well as co-operatively as a member of a team
  • The ability to design, install and model paper and electronic systems which support others to be more organised and efficient
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well with others and build relationships across different groups of people, display sensitivity, discretion and respect for confidentiality
  • Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to complete a range of competing tasks in a methodical and systematic manner
  • Confidence in database manipulation, internet spreadsheets (Excel) and word-processing (Word), email communication (Outlook) and proven ability to learn and embrace new information technology quickly.
