Save the Children's shops are more than a shop; we strive to create vibrant community hubs providing welcoming spaces where communities come together to create a home for loved products and share ideas. We act in the spirit of children – with generosity, creativity and kindness.

As the Retail Regional Manager for Scotland you will ensure our framework and culture is maintained through a balance of empowerment and accountability using a management style of situational leadership. This is a homebased role with regular travel across Scotland and would suit someone based in the territory. You will support and guide shop teams to be empowered. This means you will be;

  • Coaching, developing and leading staff and volunteers to create a vibrant community ethos in our shops within our framework.
  • Role model our values and behaviours in order to build our brand and brand experience.
  • Support and guide shop teams in understanding their local market and customer and utilising best practice and expert support

To be successful you will have retail management experience and/or charity retail experience with knowledge and experience of Volunteer Management. Entrepreneurial and driven by results, you will have belief in the power of community spirit and creating the ‘buzz' that people want to be a part of. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of managing geographically dispersed teams with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
  • Able to read, analyse and understand retail data and report such as ASP, sales space analysis, profit and loss etc.
  • Be able to demonstrate how you have achieved results and success through motivating, influencing and developing people and teams.
  • Be self-motivated and be able to work under pressure, with strong organisational and time management skills maintaining a good work life balance.

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we'll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.
