Job Description

Do you want to be part of an organisation that fights for children every single day? Then join us as Senior HR Advisor. You will be responsible for providing expert HR guidance and supporting on key projects including technical support to our international community.

In our Support Services department, we provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Senior HR Advisor you will take the lead role within HR on complex HR issues relating to non-UK based staff. and will be the HR Lead on relevant working groups and project teams.  You will provide HR input on project development and delivery and ensure all HR work relating to project is delivered to required standards, on time, and in line with wider organisational policies and processes. To achieve this you will

  • Work with the HR Service Delivery Manager, HR Advisers, Business Partners and Recruitment & Onboarding Manager to ensure ongoing work arising from projects is embedded into the wider HR team
  • Coach and challenge managers on complex non-UK issues
  • Coach and support HR Advisers and the wider team on complex international issues on a day to day basis and be the  escalation point for HR Advisers on complex international cases
  • Use your knowledge and experience to support the Reward Manager on international reward matters
  • Be the focal point for liaison with Save the Children International and other Save the Children Members in matters relating to non-UK based staff and other international issues
  • Liaise effectively with other Support Services teams (Legal, Risk, Security, Insurance etc.) to create and maintain appropriate solutions for the business on international issues

To be successful you will have strong demonstrable generalist HR skills and experience, including business-led change management. Highly motivated, resilient and a self-starter, you will be skilled in  building relationships, challenging and influencing. Experience of managing projects and working as part of a project team is essential. In addition you will have

  • Experience of HR in an international context, working with employees based outside of the UK, ideally with  non-governmental organisations
  • Broad experience of creating, adapting, interpreting, advising on and implementing a full range of HR policies and procedures
  • A passion  to coach and support others to develop their technical and management skills
  • A strong mentality with the ability to work autonomously
  • Adaptable and able to consistently work effectively under pressure
  • The ability and willingness to travel internationally from time to time, including to locations with poor infrastructure or instability.
