Job Description

Do you want to be part of an organisation that fights for children every single day? Then join us as Senior HR Advisor, acting as a deep technical expert in employee relation issues to the employee relations team, delivering sound advice and support to managers and senior leaders as well as driving forward specific initiatives related to employee relations, people development and culture change.

In our Support Services department, we fight for children every single day. We provide leadership and direction in the business of running an efficient organisation. We ensure our resources are used to maximum effect. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Senior HR Advisor you will work closely with the Employee Relations Manager, contributing to the development and implementation of the employee relations strategy in the organisationYou will also take responsibility for the development and review of employee relations policies and practices in the organisation. In addition you will:

  • Take responsibility for the development and implementation of manager toolkits and associated documentation
  • Support managers on employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinaries, redundancies and absence management amongst others
  • Support on complex employee relations issues
  • Assist in the development of a team of HR Advisors to effectively support the organisation, acting as a point of escalation for the team
  • Coach, engage and empower others in the team to be high performing.

To be successful you will be an employee relations specialist with a deep understanding of employment law and its application in the UK. An excellent and highly visible team player, you will be MCIPD qualified or have equivalent experience. Experience of managing TUPE situations and other change management programmes is also essential. In addition you will have:

  • Experience of managing complex employee relation cases
  • Strong relationship management capability with multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to influence and coach a variety of stakeholders
  • A proven ability to lead by example in challenging situations and think objectively and strategically to build organisational effectiveness
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
