We are looking for an experienced fundraising professional to join us as Senior New Business Manager, playing a vital role in continuing to grow partnerships at Save the Children.

Our Marketing and Fundraising divisions exist to inspire millions of people – from individuals to large corporate organisations – to support our quest for change. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

As Senior New Business Manager, you will prospect and win new business, support the implementation and development of Save the Children’s New Business strategy and provide support to the Head of New Business. You will also take personal responsibility and accountability for generating leads, building networks, making contacts and bringing in new partnerships. In addition you will:

  • Develop and implement ambitious sector strategies and produce tailored new business propositions for your sectors in order to secure significant, multi-year partnerships
  • Work closely with the Prospect Research team and Corporate Partnerships team to research your prospective sectors and companies and compile a list of key targets and develop cultivation and stewardship plans
  • Take a proactive role in feeding into the new business and consumer team strategy, generating ideas, bringing external insight and take a lead role in agreed areas of delivery
  • Acting as a senior representative of the Partnerships and Philanthropy department, attending external events, public speaking and networking.

To be successful you will be confident, articulate, persuasive and engaging, with significant experience of New Business in the corporate or third sector. Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience, you will have a strong commercial understanding and outlook. You should also have demonstrable experience of winning partnerships of £500K and over. In addition you will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the corporate sector and CSR issues and practice
  • Confidence when managing senior level contacts across companies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to persuade, motivate, network and negotiate effectively
  • Ability to support others to achieve their income targets
  • The ability to network with and influence senior people both internally and externally in order to achieve pre-defined outcomes.
