Job description

Be a Disability Gamechanger and join us as an In work Support Advisor on our national employment service. Support to Work provides employment advice and guidance to disabled people across England and Wales.

You will manage a caseload of customers who have recently started work. You will help them to create an action plan so they can be successful in their new role.

This will be done over the phone and via our online portal.

About the role

We are looking to recruit 2 experienced advisers with knowledge of employability in the field of disability.

You will need excellent communication skills and experience in a customer-facing role. This should include experience of supporting customers remotely online and over the phone.

To succeed in this role you will need to:

  • deal with conflicting priorities.

This service is open 9am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. You will need to be flexible and work 35 hours a week on a rota basis to support the team.

The job is currently home-based due to coronavirus. When we return to our offices, you can do this job from either Leeds or Manchester.

About you

You should bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and care passionately about improving disabled people's lives through employment.

You'll need to be confident with digital technology. Good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office products is essential. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft dynamics would be desirable.

You should be dynamic and results driven with demonstrable evidence of performance across a range of outcomes. Excellent negotiation skills will allow you to positively influence at all levels.

Skills and experience

  • Excellent customer service skills, especially over the phone
  • Experience of providing employment advice to a diverse group of customers.
  • Knowledge of the national employment market
  • Experience working in a team.
  • Excellent written skills.
  • Digitally confident with knowledge of CRM systems, especially Microsoft Dynamics, Skype for Business and Call Handling .
  • Agreement with ‘Social model of disability’ approach
