About the role
A new and exciting service has launched in Cardiff. You will be joining us to support the delivery of the Navigate service which has been designed to support parents of disabled children around the point of diagnosis, or acquiring an impairment, who are looking for emotional support to manage this life transition.
You will be responsible for delivering the service to our customers, offering the emotional support and practical advice that may be required for your diverse customer base.
We are looking to recruit a part time parent adviser who can demonstrate lived experience of disability. You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and be able to demonstrate experience in a customer facing role including experience of supporting customers remotely online and by telephone. You will have experience of providing mentoring or similar support type.
Showing empathy and being able to respond positively to change be able to deal effectively with conflicting priorities will allow to to succeed within this role. It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products and are confident user of digital technology demonstrating a positive approach to the adoption of innovative products and tools. You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.
As this service will have extended opening hours ( 9am-8pm Mon- Fri and 9am-12pm on a Saturday) a degree of flexibility is required to support your team within these hours.
