We’re the disability equality charity. We won't stop until we achieve a society where all disabled people enjoy equality and fairness. At home. At school. At work. In our communities.
To help us create a fair and equal society for all disabled people, we need to build a movement of people committed to achieving social change and volunteers are integral to this. We involve volunteers in our network of retail shops, services, fundraising events, office teams and community engagement work.
About the role
We’re now looking for a skilled and passionate volunteer management professional.
Within our vibrant head office, you will hold a key position within a small Volunteering team which acts as the organisation’s volunteer management experts, developing and improving the volunteer experience, championing volunteering, and making a key contribution to the ongoing growth and development of volunteering across the organisation.
In this varied and interesting role, you will be responsible for supporting strategic development, managing projects, assuring volunteer management quality, and managing and enhancing volunteering data, ensuring there is a consistent approach and that we’re able to measure the impact of volunteering. You will provide specialist advice, guidance and support to teams, ensuring that they have the skills and tools needed to design, develop and implement innovative and effective volunteering roles and programmes, and empowering them to deliver quality volunteer experiences, in line with volunteer management best practice.
Key to this is ensuring that all our volunteering programmes are accessible, enabling disabled people to volunteer equally and to utilise volunteering as a vehicle for social change.
This role requires extensive proven volunteer management experience, solid communication, evaluation, IT, and customer service skills, and experience of collating and analysing data. Your previous experience of project management and your organisational skills will enable you to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
As a disability equality charity, Scope strives to make all opportunities to get involved as inclusive and accessible as possible. We offer a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria. We’re open to considering adjustments that make this role more accessible such as an alternative location, job share or flexi time.
Please apply in writing with your CV and covering letter.
Closing date for applications: 1 July 2019.
Interviews: week commencing 8 July 2019.
