The Accreditation Partnerships and Events Manager role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the success and impact of the ScreenSkills Select endorsement scheme during a period of significant transformation and change in both the screen and education sectors (e.g. the technical education reforms, the implementation of the post-18 Augar review, the recovery, adaptation and growth of the industry following the pandemic, and the increasing dominance of streaming services in a post- Brexit world).

In October 2019, we relaunched our course accreditation scheme as ScreenSkills Select. We currently endorse over 100 higher education and further education courses in film, TV, animation, games and visual effects across the UK.

We want to enable anyone with aptitude and dedication to start a career in the screen industries. ScreenSkills Select endorses and enhances screen courses that develop industry-ready students. Through our ScreenSkills Select scheme:

  • Students can select courses that prepare them for industry
  • Industry can select the best new talent
  • Colleges and universities can grow the reputation of their courses

The Accreditation Partnerships and Events Manager will be responsible for identifying and gaining new ScreenSkills Select course applications.
The Accreditation Partnerships and Events Manager will also be responsible for creating sustainable networks and relationships with (and between) HE and FE providers and screen employers, to increase the benefits and impact of ScreenSkills Select, and to promote and sell the scheme to a wider range of customers. They will be the first point of contact for HE and FE customers, employers and other beneficiaries of the ScreenSkills Select endorsement scheme.

The role will involve planning and managing events for ScreenSkills Select beneficiaries such as our industry insight sessions and our annual congress.

This is an important position within ScreenSkills and will suit someone who understands the opportunities and challenges for an endorsement scheme in a fast-moving sector like screen. They need to be happy working at a strategic level with influential colleagues across industry and education, adept at project managing events and building and maintaining the end-to-end sales process. This customer-focused role requires proven experience working with FE/HE courses and/or accreditation schemes, as well as a demonstrable ability to present, negotiate and sell educational services to universities or colleges.

The initial contract will be to December 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Further develop and deliver ScreenSkills Select sales strategy and process, to build and close sales opportunities among HE and FE providers whilst optimising use of internal CRM system (HubSpot).
  • Present, negotiate and close sales to existing and new HE and FE customers of ScreenSkills Select course endorsement scheme

Build effective relationships with:

  • Key HE and FE course leaders to influence uptake of ScreenSkills Select course endorsement scheme.
  • Key screen employer networks, leveraging ScreenSkills’ strong existing partnerships, to promote ScreenSkills Select course endorsement scheme.
  • Act as the account manager for existing HE and FE partner institutions, to deepen strength and impact of their relationship with ScreenSkills
  • Coordinate and run regular engagement and networking events across the UK with employers and HE and FE providers, in order to build sustainable relationships between screen industry and endorsed courses, and to provide additional benefits to our course endorsement service.
  • Act as the project lead for ScreenSkills Select annual congress, our flagship event where educators can find out about the latest intelligence from leading experts from the screen industries.
  • Work with the internal ScreenSkills marketing and communications team to develop and deliver marketing materials and messaging to promote ScreenSkills Select.
  • Attend and coordinate wider ScreenSkills Select attendance at UCAS Create Your Future events.
  • Gain customer and employer feedback, survey and impact data to build a bank of evidence and case studies on ScreenSkills Select to demonstrate impact and inform redevelopment and ongoing improvements.
  • Stay abreast of changes across the HE and FE sector.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and events, as required.
  • Provide advice and support to other projects, as required

Essential skills and experience:

  • Responsibility for, and strong hands-on experience in promoting and selling endorsement schemes, or educational services to FE/HE institutions.
  • Account management or sales experience in an education and ideally charitable/not-for-profit context, with ability to plan, manage and track sales process and pipeline using CRM.
  • Experience planning and running events, workshops or conferences on national or regional basis.
  • Demonstrable ability to plan and manage projects from early opportunity, to presenting solutions to clients and partners, through to successful agreement.
  • Successful track record of building relationships with senior management at key stakeholders such as employers, HE and FE institutions and awarding organisations.
  • Awareness of best practice to integrate industry skills into education.
  • Ability to interpret statistics to understand and communicate educational trends.
  • Knowledge of current training and education policies.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a methodical and organised manner.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people with variable knowledge of education system.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Creative, lateral thinking and solution focused.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teamworking skills, with ability to work proactively with people at all levels and quickly form good working relationships.


  • Project Management Qualification
  • Good understanding of accreditation processes in the UK.
  • Prior role or experience in an accreditation body or awarding organisation.
  • Experience or knowledge of the screen industries, and awareness of related skills issues
