Job description

The objective of Self Help UK (operating name for Self Help Nottingham) is to promote  health and wellbeing  through the participation in self-help groups and peer support activity.   Our main area of expertise is in supporting and conditions, disability, social stigma, mental health etc. developing independent self-help groups, to enable them to be member led. These groups support people with issues e.g. long term health

We also deliver cancer support services in partnership with Macmillan Cancer support and have a large volunteer base who offer emotional support and assist with the creation of new self-help groups.

We are at an exciting time with new contracts being mobilised including a new National Self Help Resource Centre and  Macmillan Deaf Cancer support project.

Working with the Board of Trustees, the Managing Director will be responsible for the leadership, strategic development and management of Self Help UK. They will represent the organisation and promote its vision, mission, values and work to key stakeholders, partners and the wider general public. The Managing Director will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for growth, business development and diversification to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
