Selwyn College is recruiting for a College Nurse and Welfare Officer to provide confidential advice on all aspects of physical and mental health and wellbeing related issues for the welfare of the college community of students, Fellows and staff. The post-holder will take a proactive approach to support the health and wellbeing of the college community.
College Nurse and Welfare Officer
Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (exclusive of meal breaks)
Contract Type: Permanent, subject to six months’ probation
Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience of advising and assisting people with a range of physical and psychological issues. Ideally the post-holder will be dual registered as a Registered General Nurse (RCN) and a Registered specialist Mental Health Nurse. To be successful in the role, the ability to work independently with confidence and make appropriate decisions is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively and develop constructive working relationships with the Senior Tutor, students, Fellows, staff, and local healthcare professionals and providers.
