About the role
The St Pancras Community Association (SPCA) is a charity delivering high quality services for Camden residents, especially the lively and diverse community of the St Pancras and Somers Town ward. As the Director of SPCA you will lead and guide a highly skilled and motivated team to make the SPCA a community hub and a centre of excellence which has a positive impact on the lives of local residents.
The governance of SPCA is overseen by a Board of Trustees. The Director will report directly to this Board and work closely with Board members.
Key responsibilities

To build strong relationships with members of the local community, community groups, representatives and service providers to ensure that strategies and services are based on an understanding of the community’s needs and the contribution that SPCA is best placed to make as part of the of the range of local support services.

Main tasks

Overseeing all fundraising activities from trusts, the local authority, local businesses and the community.

Role Summary
As the Director of Research and Public Affairs you lead a team working across the full range of research work (including commissioning, grant-making and in-house research) and public affairs work (including policy analysis, advocacy work and mobilising our activists). You also contribute to the charity’s strategies, leadership and governance as a member of the Executive Team. Ultimately, your role is to generate new knowledge; and communicate knowledge, ideas and emotions to change hearts and minds, creating tangible reductions in alcohol harm across the UK.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Leadership, strategy & planning
1. Lead the research and public affairs functions at Alcohol Change UK.
2. Produce and deliver plans across our research and public affairs work programmes that are ambitious for change (impact), realistic given our resources, and consistent with our strategy, our other work programmes, and our values.
3. Set budgets, tightly control costs and identify opportunities for making savings, growing income and making the case for investment.
4. Appropriately monitor and evaluate our research and public affairs work with a view to knowing, growing and showing the impact we make.
Research
5. Work closely with the CEO, Policy and Research Manager, R&P sub-committee and Wales Office to determine and oversee the charity’s programme of commissioned research, research grants, and in-house research.
6. Ensure that all research is designed with impact-in-mind and, once complete, that it delivers on that impact through active and ongoing communication of the findings to the right audiences with the right messages through the right channels.
7. Lead the research function to be the central hub for the charity on the topic of alcohol harm and its solutions, staying on top of new research.
8. Influence the research spending of other agencies (e.g. NIHR) with a view to maximising funding into alcohol research in general.
Public Affairs
9. Lead and manage the charity’s public affairs activity, deploying the CEO, Research & Policy Officer and other staff as a team.
10. Lead our work with external alliances, such as the Alcohol Health Alliance and the Alcohol and Families Alliance, and on the APPG on Alcohol Harm.
11. Develop excellent relationships with Parliamentarians, civil servants, charities and other important institutional actors in our field.
12. Build Campaigner journeys for our engagement audience to best mobilise them to help us with our influencing work.
13. Lead on the commissioning and management of any external public affairs agencies, parliamentary monitoring services and similar suppliers.
14. Ensure our policy positions are kept up-to-date, based on emerging evidence and contemporary thinking, and consistent with our principles.
15. Work closely with the Director of Engagement and Fundraising to effectively mobilise and deploy our activists, Community Champions and other supporters so they (i) make a difference, (ii) become better informed over time, and (iii) remain motivated to campaign for our cause.
16. Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to influence all forms of media to better support our desired outcomes.
Team Leadership and Management
17. Lead and manage the research and public affairs team(s), ensuring excellent line management.
18. Lead the process of recruiting and inducting new team members, as appropriate.

Cross-organisational Role
20. Act as a spokesperson for the charity at high profile events and across media, including radio and TV.

About you and the role
The purpose of this role is to head up development of key partnerships and income streams that will ensure the charity remains financially sustainable and able to deliver our impact at scale. Development and Alumni Relations is expanding, and the Associate Director, London is a key appointment. You will work to build and strengthen our networks of alumni and supporters in London, where many of the University's most important and longstanding supporters are based. You will have the opportunity to work on six- and seven-figure gifts, securing philanthropic support for priorities across the Collegiate University, such as building a new Children's Hospital, ensuring global food security, powering a zero-carbon future, protecting endangered ecosystems, understanding the implications of AI, and ensuring everyone has access to world-leading education, regardless of background.
You will be part of the International and Regional Team, reporting to the Head of Development, London. You will work with academics across the full breadth of the Collegiate University, giving you an opportunity to pursue truly donor-led major gift fundraising. In a team and University characterised by ambition and the pursuit of excellence, you will find yourself among academic and development colleagues who are among the very best in the business.
You will be a talented major gifts fundraiser or equivalent who wants to secure gifts at the transformational level. You will be a self-starter, collaborative, robust, innovative in approach and a great communicator. Since its establishment in 1929, it has been a place of solace and connection, remaining a vital part of the borough to this day. Their flagship site is renowned for its role as a local leader, offering a range of amenities such as the Street Kitchen café, Social Supermarket, diverse activities, preschool, and church gatherings, attracting hundreds of visitors weekly.
KHCCC are embarking on an exciting chapter, creating the new role of Director of Development (Children and Families). With their Christian values driving transformation, this role is pivotal. KHCCC are seeking an innovative leader to join their executive leadership team and help steer change.
This opportunity will involve leading the transformation of their established Pre-school into a thriving year-round nursery. Furthermore, it includes launching a new childcare service at their second church site, enriching family and children's initiatives, and strengthening ties with borough leaders and funding bodies. This role will be instrumental in establishing connections between KHCCC and other services, enabling the comprehensive development in a unified approach.

You will have strong analytical skills, including a track record of qualitative and quantitative research. You will have experience in fundraising, will have managed budgets, and will be confident working with researchers at different stages in their careers. However, we are less interested in what you have done, and more in what you can do.
This is ideally a full-time role; however, flexible working is embedded within our culture. Join us as our Director of Finance and IT at War Child UK, a pivotal role within our Leadership Group reporting directly to Helen Pattinson, CEO. Your role is to lead our finance and IT, but as a member of our leadership group to take joint responsibility with other Directors for leading the organisation.
As Finance and IT Director, you'll lead the optimisation of our finance and IT systems to streamline recording and reporting of financial transactions. Your analytical skills will be essential as you explore cost and income centres, supplying vital data necessary to significantly enhance our fundraising efforts.
Beyond day-to-day operations, you'll play a strategic role in long-term financial planning, fostering collaboration across the War Child Alliance. Together with fellow leaders, you'll steward the wider organisation, ensuring War Child UK is ready for success and equipped with ambitious financial investment frameworks.
Success in this role also entails ensuring our IT systems maintain the highest standards of excellence, delivering accurate and timely financial performance insights. You'll contribute to a vision where War Child UK achieves extraordinary results within a financially sound Alliance, empowering members to maximise their impact while being accountable for every penny raised.
You will be a qualified accountant with exceptional strategic and operational experience. You do not necessarily need to have prior international development experience, although you will need to demonstrate that you can build effective working relationships with overseas counterparts. Experience of working within a complex fundraising environment would be highly advantageous though. For this role, we are also as keen to hear from experienced directors who are excited by what we do as we are from those for whom this would be their first senior leadership role.

As a bi-national charity we work in partnership with the housing and homelessness sector, refugee and asylum sector, churches, community groups, UK Government, Welsh Government and local government to help provide those experiencing homelessness with a safe and stable home.

About the role
The role of the Director for Wales is to lead the team and the development of the work of Housing Justice throughout Wales. The Director is responsible for ensuring resilient funding for the delivery of existing projects and to develop projects in line with the strategic plan, growing the Charity’s reach to meet homelessness and housing need. They will be a key member of the Senior Management team nationally, developing and spearheading the broader strategic work of Housing Justice.
About you
We are looking for a self-motivated, committed person ideally with experience of working in the homelessness, housing or charity sectors. We would like someone with excellent leadership skills, who understand the importance of wellbeing and involvement.
The skills needed for the role include effective partnership working, business planning, project management and service delivery across multiple functions, as well as financial management skills including budgeting and delivery of cost and income targets.
Finally, we are looking for someone who is committed to making a difference and passionate about supporting people to thrive across Wales in a safe home and community.
