The Head of IT will lead the development and delivery of Information Technology, Digital and Data strategies for Help Musicians, and their sister charity Music Minds Matter, to ensure a fit for purpose infrastructure, software products and information that supports their business needs, while continuously improving in line with new technologies. As a member of the leadership team, you will effectively lead the charity’s IT team and work closely with colleagues to deliver the businesses core strategic objectives.
Key Deliverables for this role include:
- Leads in the development of a multi-year IT strategy which supports the aims of the charity’s three-year business plan – develops, executes, and keeps up to date strategies (IT, Digital, Data) that delivers agreed outcomes.
- Manages IT related risks enabling the organisation to manage its operations and services safely and securely.
- Provides effective leadership and management to all those reporting to you, ensuring staff are motivated to deliver to their personal potential and add maximum value to the charity. Models’ leadership behaviours that will embed IT and digitalisation across the charity.
- Manages relationships with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes and effective representation of department and the charity where required.
Main responsibilities
- Lead on the development and execution of the charity’s IT strategy that proactively supports the business and manages IT related risks well.
- Working collaboratively with the leadership team, model leadership behaviours that will embed IT and digitalisation across HM, upholding Help Musicians values, working with the highest professional standards and maintaining high staff morale.
- Develop and sustain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working with teams to plan and deliver IT Programme.
- Develop and keep up to date IT related policies and procedures that are publicised, understood, and adhered to by HM.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within HM, devising and leading on delivering a strategy for continuous improvement and on-going service improvement and process reviews.
- Ensure all technology risks are effectively managed and the Help Musicians technology estate is secure.
- Responsible for the management and delivery of the IT budget ensuring value for money.
- Effectively lead, manage, motivate, and develop the IT team through regular supervision, appraisal, and performance management, to develop them to their full potential.
Essential knowledge and experience
- Experience of leading and managing an IT service in an SME to include:
- Managing and developing complex strategies, projects, and teams;
- Identification and successful implementation of new technologies and systems;
- Working with a mix of cloud-based service providers as well as inhouse and outsourced managed services;
- Digital and data IT security and governance requirements;
- Providing expert advice and reports to Board, Committees, and senior colleagues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of existing and developing technologies, and how they can be applied to business;
- Good knowledge, experience and understanding of programme and project management delivery;
- Experience of leading teams, motivating people to deliver goals, and people management best practices;
- Experience of communicating, negotiating, and influencing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners;
- Experience of successfully managing departmental budget;
- Effective risk management.

Hybrid working, with a minimum of 2 days in the London office (WC1X 9JS) and 3 days at home, with flexibility to attend the London office more regularly as the needs of the role dictate.

Deptford X is a visual arts charity based in Deptford, South East London, we foster artistic talent and nurture community within the borough of Lewisham and beyond. We achieve this through a free festival in Deptford, working with hundreds of artists to locate art at the centre of everyday life for all of the area’s communities, and ongoing activity supporting artists and our local communities year-round. Founded in 1998, Deptford X is London’s longest-running visual arts festival.

Job Responsibilities
The General Manager is integral to the management of Deptford X and the delivery and development of its ambitious programmes. The General Manager works closely with the Director and Board of Trustees as part of a small and supportive team to contribute actively and creatively to the development of the organisation, as well as overseeing daily and organisational operations. The General Manager supervises office management, communications, administration, financial management, staffing, programme delivery logistics, reporting and evaluation; and works collaboratively with the Director on strategic and financial development, including embedded environmental sustainability. In addition to the above, the General Manager will lead on developing and dynamically integrating Deptford X's access and care agenda.

The Head of Development will lead the fundraising and development strategy for the Manor and its contemporary art Gallery. Sitting on the Senior Management Team, you will play a crucial role in building on Pitzhanger’s past successes and existing fundraising relationships to create new opportunities. You will, as Head of Development, develop the income strategy that will include trusts and foundations, corporates, individuals, and broader public fundraising campaigns. We give grants to help museums, galleries, historic houses and public arts organisations to acquire objects for their collections, to share them with as many people as possible, and to support research and training for museum professionals. The role
This is an important and exciting post for the organisation and as the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading best practice financial reporting and analysis for the charity. The role has two direct reports (as part of a team of five) and involves working across the organisation and with senior leadership and trustees to deliver and communicate first class management information.
This is impactful and broad Head of Finance role, but to give an idea of focus, the core areas of delivery will include:
- Statutory accounts & audit – act as the primary contact for the external auditor, ensure the accounts are consistent with financial standards requirements and delivered on time
- Budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and financial analysis - present management accounts and reforecasts to senior leadership, trustees and staff
- Change & improvements – proactively support transformation on CRM systems upgrade, be fully involved in the selection of a new finance system for implementation in 2025

Purpose of the Exhibitions Technician role is to:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the RAF Museum as Exhibitions Technician. Reporting to the Exhibitions Workshop Manager, the Exhibitions Technician will support the design, construction, installation, maintenance and repair of exhibition elements, such as bespoke mounts, plinths, display stands and mechanical interactives, for the Museum’s permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions, developing suitable methods of fabrication and repair.
You will support the maintenance, care and preservation of the Museum’s collection, supporting the Museum’s project teams as required and responding to service requests.
Key responsibilities of our Exhibitions Technician include:
- Design, manufacture and install exhibition displays in a variety of materials
- Design and produce bespoke object mounts, working closely with the Collections Services team
- Install and de-install temporary and permanent exhibitions, including exhibition structures and objects, and make good of exhibition spaces as required.
- Ensure Workshop facilities, and areas of work, comply with Health and Safety and COSHH Regulations, ensuring work areas are maintained in a clean and tidy state
- To maintain all tooling and equipment in a serviceable condition, ensuring that all equipment is safe to operate within manufacturers’ approved guidelines.
- To contribute towards the Museum’s provision of a healthy, safe and secure working environment for visitors, staff, volunteers and contractors
- Supervise and induct exhibition contractors on site as required

What we are looking for in our Exhibitions Technician:
- Appropriate trade related qualification in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience gained in a workshop environment
- Two additional relevant skills (e.g. welding, electronics, electrical, woodwork, prop making, model making, painting, plastering)
- Displays enthusiasm around activities, adopting a positive approach when interacting with others, and motivating team members
- Listens to, understands, respects and accepts different views, ideas and ways of working

2. Job Description
The Head of External Engagement is a key leadership post within the organisation. The role encompasses responsibility for the development and delivery of the organisation’s external activity, including profile, brand identity and stakeholder engagement (including the public), fundraising, and driving income generation in new areas, notably commercial partnerships. It also forms part of Sound and Music’s senior management team, who under the leadership of the Chief Executive are responsible for overseeing the organisation’s programme of activity, strategic development, external profile and a positive and productive organisational culture.
An experienced fundraiser and communicator, you will lead the external engagement team and support the delivery of its strategic and operational plans. The broad remit of the role means the successful candidate will be a strong and confident communicator who builds networks easily and prioritises exceptional stakeholder management and relationship development.

3. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and management
External leadership:
· Represent Sound and Music publicly, including through stakeholder and supporter events
· Work with the Head of Programmes to ensure Sound and Music’s advisory groups are meaningfully engaged

Internal leadership:
· Shared strategic responsibility and accountability for Sound and Music’s three core aims and their associated objectives, outcomes and outputs

· Develop and support the Chief Executive on the overall business and development strategy for the organisation to ensure we meet fundraising targets (£200k in 2024-25) for annual programmes and major projects
· Develop an ambitious fundraising programme which builds our supporter base and individual funding streams, including individuals, major gifts and public funders
· Drive income growth by identifying and negotiating commercial partnerships and contribute to the development of an enhanced commercial mindset across the organisation
· Develop and cultivate the existing trusts and foundations pipeline
· Prepare documents and reports for key funders including Arts Council England
· Build and maintain positive and productive relationships with key funders, commercial organisations and stakeholders and cultivate existing relationships within the organisation
· Establish new income streams, for example, by maximising the intellectual property created within the organisation
· Engage the Board of Trustees and senior management team in fundraising activities and the ongoing strategy to optimise donor management and stewardship to develop a culture of fundraising across the organisation
· Maximise the opportunities provided by the new CRM system and contribute to the development of a data-led mindset across the organisation
Communications and campaigns
· Develop and lead the overall communications and reputation management strategy for varied stakeholders to ensure we increase our visibility and influence in the sector
· Support the Chief Executive to build the profile of our brand, drive the media messaging and oversee and power our content media campaigns
· Support the Chief Executive to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with government and culture and media opinion formers
Strategy and planning
· Work with the Chief Executive and other senior management team members to monitor, evaluate and review KPIs, strategies and activity so as to maximise Sound and Music’s impact. This includes reporting and presenting to the Board and externally to help build engagement and relationships in the sector and with funders
· Assess the reputational, financial, delivery and other risks associated with current and new projects and partnerships
· Empower, model, support and encourage cross-team working to realise the full income generating possibilities of projects
Finance and governance
· Contribute to creating and monitoring the overall organisation budget
· Work closely with the Chief Executive, Head of Programmes and Finance Manager to formulate financial strategy against specified budget areas, and to ensure that the programme activity is sufficiently resourced, planned and delivered to budget
· Ensure close monitoring of income and expenditure for relevant budget lines and contribute to senior management team financial planning and review
· Attend Board and Financial Subcommittee meetings to present and report impact on a quarterly basis

About the Role
Aesop are seeking an Interim Chief Executive to work with the Chair, to ensure that Aesop’s charitable vision, mission and strategic plans are developed and delivered effectively and sustainably. The Chief Executive will ensure the charity is well administered and meets its governance responsibilities. The Chief Executive will act as an ambassador to secure Aesop’s impact and profile locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.
About you
You will have successful experience in leadership and the growth of a national charity. Due to the nature of the role, you will have proven turnaround and/or transformation experience and skill set.
A track record of raising funds through grants and success in tendering and bidding for contracts is also crucial. Ideally you will be experienced in working in a resource constraint environment.
With regard to people management, you will have strong leadership expertise and experienced in leading volunteers. Externally, you will represent Aesop positively and effectively in order to secure Aesop’s impact.
