Job description
Sense is growing, and we are looking for talented individuals to join our team in Birmingham. These are permanent roles working up to 25 hours per week depending on your availability.


In this role you will be supporting people who have sensory impairments and/or complex communication needs to access the community. You will also play a role in supporting people to develop their communication, make choices, and learn new skills.


A background in support work is not a requirement, but the right personal attributes are!


 


We are looking for candidates who:


- Have superb communication skills and can relate well with others.


- Like being out and about, and are happy to support people to access the activities and places that they enjoy.  


- Are creative in their approach when trying to engage people they support.


- Feel that no one, no matter how complex their disability, health, care and support needs should be left out of life.


 


What we need from you:


- Valid UK driving licence and use of own vehicle when supporting people to access the community (mileage expenses are compensated at 40p per mile)


- Available to work on a Saturday.


- Can demonstrate a keenness to plan and participate in activities and days out with the people you will be supporting.


 


What we would like you to have:


- BSL is not essential for this role, but will be a plus.
