Sense has a great opportunity for fun loving, enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Support Worker in Poole, Dorset. This is a permanent full time post working 37.5 hours per week across a weekly rota, which will include evenings weekends and sleep ins.

About the role…
• As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose 
• You will be based at our supported living service in Poole, providing 24 hour support to a deafblind individual to enable them to live safely in their own home and access the community.
• To help the individual take part in activities that they enjoy, such as Café and Pub trips, Cinema, walks on the beach and the occasional trip to local theme parks.  
• The most important aspect of the role is communicating with the client using PECs,  Makaton and or Basic British sign language.

About you…
• Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided
• Able to demonstrate that you possess the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives
• Open and honest attitude to life we would love to hear from you.
• For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care 
• Valid UK Driving Licence 
• BSL Level one or ability to communicate with BSL, PECs and Makaton.
