(SEO London) is a UK-registered charity delivering superior educational, training, and mentoring support to young people from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds. SEO London programming is focused on pre-professional development, career access and long-term success within elite global industries. SEO London was launched in 2000 and has subsequently delivered two decades of transformative leadership in the UK workplace diversity and inclusion segment. Today, over 14,000 diverse students and professionals are registered with SEO London, benefiting from sponsorship and engagement opportunities with over 120 blue chip firms across financial services, corporate law, consulting, technology, engineering, and corporates. Thousands of SEO London alumni currently work in global organisations; many of them holding senior leadership positions.

SEO London AIP

The SEO London Alternative Investment Programme (AIP) has been developed alongside a range of leading European and global private equity and asset management firms. The AIP recognises the need for diversity across its professional teams and the programme is dedicated to supporting that process by helping under-represented groups access and develop career opportunities to transform D&I outcomes

Key relationships

The AIP Programme Manager will build, establish and maintain good and professional working relationships with:

  • SEO London senior management team and staff across other SEO London programmes to ensure effective collaboration across the organisation
  • Sponsor alternative investments firms
  • SEO London candidates and university students
  • SEO London alumni

Main Duties & Responsibilities

The Programme Manager will assist or lead in the following duties:

  • Provide leadership and manage a team of 2-4 people to ensure programme delivers on objectives
  • Oversee and execute flagship SEO London AIP workstreams including :
    • Demystifying the City – week-long programme for Year 12 students to gain exposure and networking opportunities to sell-side and buy-side roles/professionals within the City
    • Alternative Fellowship Programme – extensive coaching and mentoring programme to enable junior professionals within banking/consulting to break into roles on the buy side
    • Conference for the EMEA Alternative Investments Industry
  • Provide coaching sessions and training for SEO London Candidates
  • Organise and conduct the recruitment, assessment and recommendation of candidates for junior talent opportunities including summer and off-cycle internships for university level students at sponsor AIP firms
  • Manage key relationships across business lines and senior management level at steering group firms
  • Identify AIP programme business development opportunities
  • Manage SEO London alumni relations to ensure mentoring and training provision for AIP programme
  • Support SEO London's IT strategy including the website re-design, online application system and CRM management
  • Develop programme budget and cash flow analysis
  • Conduct analysis in achieving KPIs of AIP workstreams

Knowledge and skills

The ideal candidate will have a significant number of the following skills:

  • Significant experience (min. 3-4 years) in either sell-side (eg Investment Banking / Markets) or buy-side (Asset Management / Private Equity etc) roles
  • Strong interest in diversity and belief in SEO London’s mission
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to manage professional service relationships on the one hand and university students/young professionals on the other
  • Substantial project management expertise
  • Knowledge of the UK university system and have some recruitment experience
  • Small business management skills in the form of financial budgeting and database management
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Adaptable to change given the AIP is still in developmental phase with a lot of growth opportunity
  • MS Office IT literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce desirable but not essential
  • Exposure to training and development
