Job description

As part of their Rural Programme the National Lottery Community Fund have awarded a contract for community development support to Severn Wye, which we deliver under the name Rural Futures. This funding supports communities across nine rural counties in Wales to come together and help tackle rural issues in their areas; improving wellbeing, raising community aspirations, building social capital and increasing community resilience.

The Rural Futures programme does this by working on the following outcomes:

  • Rural communities are brought together to map the strengths and opportunities within their community
  • Rural communities are empowered to develop their own solutions to address poverty
  • Learning is captured and shared to inform future community development in rural areas

As Development Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating community engagement and acting as a lynchpin for the community as they develop ideas and build on their assets and strengths. You will help the communities you are responsible for to make strategic decisions about improving their sustainability and quality of life.

If this is a role you see yourself thriving in, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications for this role are to be made via our application form on our website.
