Job description

Location: Home-based, managing a field-based dispersed team of predominantly outreach Digital Coaches, who undertake a mixture of face to face and virtual delivery. As such you need to be able to travel within the Central England (CPA1) and Home Counties (CPA5) areas.

Working across outreach sites in: Home Counties geographical areas include: East of England - Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk.

Central England geographical areas include: Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Bedfordshire & Buckinghamshire, Staffordshire, Walsall and Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

The WHP JETS Digital Coach Team Leader role is integral to contributing to our mission of reducing digital illiteracy by managing and leading a team of Digital Coaches who will be supporting our participants in learning how to access and operate in a virtual world.  The role requires an engaging, empathetic and motivating individual, with the ability to support staff to achieve day-to-day performance. The Team Leader will develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and ensure the effective management of staff caseloads and performance outcomes.

This role is perfect for individuals with proven leadership skills and experience of leading and supporting customer-focused teams. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a solution focussed approach, be target driven and highly organised. You will also be highly skilled in IT and coaching, with the ability to manage a dispersed team of predominantly outreach Digital Coaches.

This role will be mainly delivered remotely via phone, video conference and other digital channels. You will manage a field based dispersed team of predominantly outreach Digital Coaches, who undertake a mixture of face to face and virtual delivery. As such you need to be able to travel within the Central England (CPA1) and Home Counties (CPA5) areas.

Reporting into the Operations and Administration Manager (WHP JETS), you will be responsible for managing and assisting in the day to day management and support of the teams.

Shaw Trust operates on a national level with over 2,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers. We work with the government, local authorities, combined authorities, health service providers, employers, and other stakeholders – including the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Department for Work and Pensions, clinical commissioning groups and NHS Trusts.

You must have an understanding of the local and regional labour market and employment issues within Home Counties or Central England regions and able to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the benefit system and entitlements.
