The Shaw Trust, in tandem with government and the broader employment support community across the UK, is working hard to make sure we support as many individuals as possible to get and keep a job. We believe that everyone who needs help and support to attain their employment goals should be able to access it as soon as possible and that support should reflect their individual needs.

To help us in this mission we are looking to expand our employability services Work and Health Programme Job Entry: Targeted Support (WHP/JETS). We need a Head of Work and Health Programme (JETS) to lead the contract delivery of services supporting people to change their lives positively through finding work. Our staff strive to make an impact by looking for new and innovative ways to motivate people who are disadvantaged in the job market. They deploy out-of-the box thinking to provide personalised support to help people take control over their lives.

Reporting directly to the Contract Director, the role will be responsible for the leadership of Shaw Trust’s Work and Health Programme (JETS) delivery. The role will ensure all operational delivery is operated safely, efficiently and achieves or exceeds performance expectations.

We need an individual with a background in management, budgeting and the delivery of continuous improvement.  Working with key stakeholders, you will have a proven track record of achieving objectives through strong relationship management.  A solution-focussed approach, which enables risks and issues to be minimised is ideal, as is the ability to make decisions based on analytical assumptions.

This is a complex and challenging operations management role, which requires strong management and contract delivery skills. You will have responsibility for the efficient, effective and evidence-based delivery of excellent performance in all services measured against contractual requirements.

Shaw Trust operates on a national level with over 2,000 staff and 1,000 volunteers. We work with the government, local authorities, combined authorities, health service providers, employers, and other stakeholders – including the Education and Skills Funding Agency, Department for Work and Pensions, clinical commissioning groups and NHS Trusts.

You must have an understanding of the local and regional labour market and employment issues within two geographical areas – Central England, and Home Counties, and able to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the benefit system and entitlements.

You will need to be inclusive and embrace our culture and values, putting those we support at the heart of everything we do. You will consistently deliver high quality services to support our communities and beneficiaries.
