Job description

Sheffield Hallam University is seeking to appoint a Senior Philanthropy Programmes Officer to join the Development & Alumni Relations Office (DARO).

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual to play a central role supporting our fundraising strategy. The University is committed to championing social mobility and inclusion, and we have ambitious fundraising targets to support the delivery of a range of projects which will transform the lives of our students, support world leading academic research and help us deliver our civic ambitions.

In this role you will shape and coordinate an effective donor cultivation and stewardship programme, building relationships with student beneficiaries and academic colleagues to bring donors closer to the work they wish to support. You will also manage a focused portfolio of prospects who you will nurture and engage in the work of the University and support the wider team in helping to raise vital funds.

You must be able to work independently to manage and prioritise your workload on multiple programmes and deliver against annual team targets. You will have experience of successfully developing relationships both within your organisation and outside to generate income and in-kind support. To compliment this, you will understand the role of strong communications and possess excellent writing skills with an ability to tell stories that inspire.

The postholder will be able to access a supported programme of personal development to become an outstanding fundraiser. There will opportunities to travel and work in a hybrid model both on campus and remotely as part of the role.
