Job Description

Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust is one of 46 Wildlife Trusts working to build a better future for people, the environment and wildlife.

This is an exciting new role within Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust and is a full time role based on a job share.  We are advertising for one 0.5 FTE role as Head of Engagement & Fundraising, the other 0.5FTE being already appointed internally.

We are looking for someone who shares our passion and commitment for our work to take forward the Trust’s work to connect people with nature and inspire them to take action.

We are looking for someone to provide strategic leadership to grow and develop the Trust’s stakeholder and community engagement programme, including outreach activity, outdoor learning, membership, supporter and fundraising programmes.  This includes reaching out to our diverse communities from across Sheffield and Rotherham whilst also growing our unrestricted and restricted funds through individual giving, corporate supporters, grant-makers, charitable trusts etc. in order to deliver our Strategy.

The Head of Engagement & Fundraising is a senior manager role and part of the senior executive team.  The post holder will be involved in a wide range of complex, technical and professional work in differing situations and with a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy.  They will be responsible for managing a budget of up to £1,000,000.

The post holder will be required to have at least five years substantial relevant experience, knowledge and skills, including strategic and business development, in at least two of the following areas: community engagement, education & learning, fundraising, membership recruitment, individual giving.  They are likely to have a relevant degree in a similar role, and would ideally also have a relevant post graduate and/or professional qualification.
