We’re looking for a commercially aware individual with experience of working in a fundraising/income generation focused product development and innovation environment, to join us as a Community Fundraising National Relationships Manager and play a key role in engaging new and existing supporters.

Part of our hugely successful Income Generation division, Shelter’s Community Fundraising team is a new and, currently, small team but with big plans to grow our numbers to have Regional Fundraisers in 12 cities across England and Scotland. Community Fundraising is a key part of Shelter’s long-term fundraising strategy and investment is being made available to fund it. We have recently appointed a new Head of Community Fundraising and are now seeking to expand our team – it’s a great time to join us.

About the role
This brand new role involves leading and managing a team and working closely with the Head of Community Fundraising to achieve our strategic and operational objectives. You’ll also play a big part in developing, testing and evaluating new mass activity products and carrying out market scanning and trend spotting. Managing the national stewardship and engagement of supporters will be important too, as will managing a budget to ensure optimal ROIs. Developing and testing supporter journeys, creating and developing assets and materials and using coaching, mentoring and other methods to continuously improve the performance of your team – all are aspects of a role that will also see you work with the Head to develop a culture of innovation across Community Fundraising.
You’ll need to be an accomplished project manager with a proven track record in a related environment where you employed innovation management tools. You also need a good understanding of Google Analytics, Trello, Miro, DSEO, social media marketing, Indesign and databases. Some management experience is required too, as is a customer focused approach, lots of creativity and innovation and a strong desire to deliver results each and every time. You will be able to demonstrate strong skills and experience around supporter stewardship and supporter journeys. Someone who responds quickly and positively to change, you’re happy to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas, methods and processes where appropriate. What’s more, you have excellent networking and influencing skills, whether dealing with a variety of internal teams or external suppliers, developers and agencies.
