We’re looking for a Finance or IT professional with significant experience in administrating and/or developing finance systems to join Shelter as its Finance Systems Manager. You will have experience in the charity sector or the ability to quickly learn the relevant technical regulations of charity reporting. Shelter’s finance system – Unit4 Business World - underpins our financial controls and reporting framework and is fundamental in ensuring we safeguard our assets and provide relevant, timely management information for decision makers. We need someone like you to ensure it is effectively developed and managed so that we can continue to best support those who benefit from Shelter’s work.

About the Role
This role sits within Shelter’s Finance Systems team. We support and improve Shelter’s financial information systems, helping to make sure that our financial processes are efficient, easy to use, and well controlled. We also manage reporting tools to help everyone at Shelter fulfil their financial responsibilities and look after our resources. The Finance Systems Manager manages the Finance Systems Assistant and ensures they are well-motivated and supported to develop their skills and experience.
Your experience gained working with financial systems (preferably Unit4 Business World) plus your ability to own and deliver improvements to system processes and controls will have every chance to shine. As well as having worked in a Financial Systems Support function in a diverse and complex organisation with a large internal customer base, you have a proven ability to manage user group forums and communicate developments too. What’s more, you're used to supporting Procure to Pay systems, either standalone packages, or as part of an ERP system and have a flair for designing and delivering user training programs for Finance and non-Finance staff. Customer-focused, and quick to identify solutions, you enjoy managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders and are not afraid to challenge the status quo and introduce new ideas where appropriate.
