Do you have a good understanding of project management processes and experience of carrying out desktop research and data collation and analysis? Then join Shelter as Quality and Development Assistant and you could soon be providing vital administrative, research and project support to our Services Quality and Development (SQD) team.
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change — with individuals, in communities, across society – and leading the way to a safe home. We need ambitious, best-in-class individuals who are passionate about our cause to join us at this exciting time. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
About the Role
The SQD team enables Shelter’s Services to grow and continue to provide the help that matters to people in housing need. This particular role is part of the Quality & Development Support team which provides support to the SQD team via research, knowledge management and communications. As a Quality and Development Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in making sure the team has the information it needs to identify leads and opportunities, complete tenders and create innovative services to help more people. Along the way, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the SQD team, as well as other teams and departments across Shelter. You’ll also be able to learn about the markets we operate in, how we go about winning tenders and how we make sure people have access to the services they need when fighting bad housing and homelessness.
As well as some project management experience, you’ll need a proven ability to use administrative systems, e.g. CRMs, databases and document storage systems. You’ll also need proficiency in Microsoft Office applications like Outlook, Word and Excel. Someone who’s not afraid to challenge the status quo and introduces new ideas, methods and processes when appropriate, you have a proactive approach and lots of initiative. What’s more, you’re commercially aware, have a strong customer-focus and work well as part of a team.
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We’re here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
