About the Service
No Wrong Door is a group of networked agencies committed to information-sharing and common approaches and standards in supporting people with complex needs. This ensures that clients can access a whole system of support through one referral form and there is no ‘wrong door’. It's also part of Birmingham Changing Futures Together, an innovative programme funded through the Big Lottery Fund's £112 million initiative to support people with multiple and complex needs. We currently have four vacancies which will form part of a new team recruited as part of the Lead Worker & Peer Mentor Service for the Changing Futures Together Programme.
About the Role
As a Services Navigator, you’ll be responsible for helping especially vulnerable clients with two or more complex needs (homelessness, offending, mental health or substance use) to access the services they need. You’ll also help a Team Leader and Service Manager to develop a person centred and co-produced service that in turn helps the NWD Network to coordinate person-centred support. This is a great opportunity to increase service engagement and contribute towards long-term positive outcomes and building relationships with a varied caseload of people will be key. And, when it comes to identifying services outside the network that might also be relevant to clients and helping them to access those services, again, we'll count on you to deliver.
As well as a proven ability to support people with multiple and complex needs, you’ll need professional or lived experience of navigating services for two or more of the following; homelessness, offending, mental health and substance use. Some experience of working within a safeguarding framework is also required, while an understanding of Birmingham based services for the client group would be useful, but is not essential. We would particularly welcome applicants who have lived experience of multiple and complex needs. Forward thinking, flexible and actively supportive of the introduction of new ideas, methods and processes, proficiency using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications is also a must.
