JOB ADVERT FOR SUPPORT & DEVELOPMENT WORKER – Merseyside, Lancashire, Isle of Man.  Clinical Centre: Liverpool

If you want to work in a job where you can really make a difference to people’s lives, this is the role for you.  SHINE is the National Charity for children and adults with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Support & Development Worker to support, advise, inform and empower children, families and adults with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, through individual support and group activities to promote individual wellbeing and a supportive SHINE community. 

You will relate to Clinicians, other Health, Education, Benefits & Social Care Professionals to promote the needs of Shine members, support Clinics where needed and provide Information & Training Sessions to Schools and Care Settings.

Relevant experience in the field of disabilities is essential, with a preference for a knowledge of Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus.

SHINE places a high value on enthusiasm, innovative ideas and commitment to the cause, and for the right person this role will be extremely fulfilling.  The ability to be motivated and work on your own initiative with lone working from home, whilst also travelling around the area to develop activities and build networks, is essential and you will bring your own skills and experience to be part of the wider dispersed Regional and National SHINE Team supporting our members.


Part-time 28 hours over 4 days

Pattern of Work:             

Four days per week with flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when required


£25,930 pro-rata (depending on experience)


Homebased (commutable to Merseyside and Lancashire)
