Job description

Hours Various / Flexible

Are you looking for a new role where you can play a part in making a difference, demonstrate your transferable skills and choose from a variety of working hours that suit your needs? If the answer is yes, then read on.

Whether you are looking to work days, evenings, nights or weekends only; we may have something perfect for you.  We are urgently seeking to increase our current pool of Bank/Key Support Workers; in order to meet the needs of our services that provide support to homeless and vulnerable people in London.

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

As a Locum Bank / Key Support Worker you will be joining our dedicated teams of staff, in carrying out the daily tasks and duties required to support our clients.  You will either be located within one of our Supported Accommodation Projects or in the newly created accommodations for Homeless/Rough Sleepers within London’s Hotels.  Wherever possible, we will place you in a service that is either within your borough or is easy to commute to.

We are seeking people with experience gained from a varied background or from a different job sector, who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work that we do.  So, if you possess transferable skills such as good communication skills, the ability to multi-task, work as part of a team and deliver a quality customer focussed service, we want to hear from you.   In return, we will provide you with a comprehensive induction and plenty of opportunity to learn on the job.

Submission of applications: ongoing

Interviews will be held:  during April & May 2020

This post will require an Enhanced DBS check to be processed for the successful applicant.

SHP is actively committed to equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity and inclusion, in all of our services and workplaces.  We are also Disability Confident Committed, a Stonewall Diversity Champion and IIP accredited.  In the London Homelessness Awards 2019 one of our Projects has been commended for their work
