We have an additional role within our Opportunities team for a Recovery and Opportunities Co-ordinator.
SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.
As part of SHP’s Opportunities Programme, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and co-ordinating a recovery-focused activities and group work programme, within designated housing schemes. This will be co-produced with clients, within a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE); an approach to supporting and working with clients, which SHP provides a comprehensive training programme to all staff within client services.
You will also facilitate group work and activities, as well as coach and support staff members, volunteers, students, clients and peers, to lead on groups and activities themselves. Other responsibilities include working with partnership agencies, to ensure the programme meets the needs of clients, supports their recovery and their move towards independent accommodation.
To be successful, you will have experience of working with people who have needs in the following areas; mental and physical health, substance use or offending. You will also have experience of developing, facilitating, co-ordinating and group working, as well as the ability to teach, coach and support staff and clients to develop and run groups. Additionally, experience in developing and maintaining positive partnership relationships with a range of internal and external providers and services, is also required.
We welcome and encourage applications from all backgrounds and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse individuals, skills, experiences and abilities. Due to current under –representation, we therefore particularly encourage applications from individuals within our Black and Asian communities and from individuals with lived experience of services.
