Job description

Hours: 18.75 per week

We are seeking someone who is creative, highly organised and has strong leadership skills to develop and manage our team of Recovery & Opportunities Coordinators (ROCs).

As the Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the programmes across SHP, as well as directly supervising a range of specialist staff; dispersed across our London services.  You will also lead on the ongoing development of our timetable of recovery-focused activities and resources, ensuring that there is consistency and a wide range of activities (both structured and less formal) that promotes and facilitates change for clients.

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

We have developed our Opportunities Programme, to initiate and support the process of change and recovery for our clients.  We hold daytime workshops and sessions such as yoga, mindfulness, art for therapy, health and wellbeing, sports & fitness as well as cookery and therapeutic horticulture.  The programme also has elements such as hearing voices groups and SMART recovery, which are clinically underpinned.

To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience of working with individuals affected by mental ill health, substance use, rough sleeping or complex related needs.  You will also have experience of leading the work of others in providing support, guidance and advice to socially excluded groups.  In addition to being able to work in partnership with specialist service providers or agencies, you will have notably strong practical experience of developing and delivering clinical/group work, for a client group that may be resistant to change or engage.

SHP is actively committed to equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity and inclusion, in all of our services and workplaces.  We are also Disability Confident Committed, a Stonewall Diversity Champion and IIP accredited.  In the London Homelessness Awards 2019 one of our Projects has been commended for their work.
