Job description

Single Homeless Project is a London-wide charity. Our vision is of a society where everyone has a place to call home and the chance to live a fulfilling life. 

We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, we make a difference to 10,000 lives every year across all 32 boroughs.

Our Resettlement and Support Team support clients with a history of homelessness who are currently housed in hotels, hostels, temporary accommodation and the private rented sector; to maintain and/or access appropriate housing.

As a Resettlement and Support Worker, you will provide intensive support for people with varying needs, advocating & enabling them to access appropriate services, including housing.  This will also include rapid response in assessing housing needs for those leaving hospital who are placed temporarily in a hotel.

Each Resettlement Worker will carry a caseload of up to 20 clients with a wide range of support needs, providing end to end holistic, coordinated support for each individual; from first contact through to them achieving a more settled and fulfilled lifestyle.

To succeed, you will have the following:

  • An understanding and /or experience of supporting people with wide range of needs at risk of rough sleeping. Specialist knowledge will include housing, homelessness, substance misuse and/ or mental health.
  • Experience of effective liaison & multi-agency working with housing social, health
  • Understanding of equal opportunities and the promotion of diversity when delivering a service.
  • An ability to find ways of working with clients who may have a history of low levels of engagement with services.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work effectively with partnership agencies

You will also be required to work flexibly and creatively in response to changing external and organisational requirements.
