Job description

As a result of our services expanding in the London Borough of Newham, we have new and exciting Support Worker roles available within our organisation.

SHP (Single Homeless Project) is one of London’s leading homelessness prevention charities and a dynamic and growing organisation changing 8,000 lives every year across London - from supporting people in crisis, to helping them take the final steps towards independence and employment.

As a Support Worker you will be delivering support to some of the most vulnerable adults in Newham with a keen focus on those individuals who have been rough sleeping in the borough.  You will also be working alongside a dedicated team of multi-talented professionals, and with our additional service; the Newham Housing First Team.

The ideal candidates will be highly organised, proactive, passionate and adept at developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  You will also have a good understanding of working with vulnerable people who have been rough sleeping along with an understanding of the trauma that could be associated with this.  Additionally, you will have a strong working knowledge of London's private rented market and the current welfare system.
