Brentwood, Essex
£23,000 - £25,000 per year
Permanent, Full-time
Job description

To provide consistent and current information, sound advice, practical and emotional support to families, either directly or via telephone and email helpline. To inform, encourage and support families to help them gain the knowledge, skills, emotional strength and confidence to pursue the best options for their child/young person.

SNAP (Special Needs And Parents) supports Essex families who have children, aged 0-25, with any special need or disability. Over the past 25 years, we have gained an in-depth understanding of the everyday demands of supporting a child with an additional need or disability. At the heart of our work we aim to help and empower the whole family, enabling them to meet the challenges they face. As a result we have developed a variety of services in response to the needs of local families.

Our ideal candidate will be a committed person who works towards the aims of the Charity and from a conviction that the families SNAP serves are entitled to an outstanding service. You will have experience of working in a health or disability setting or previously worked with children and young people with special needs and have an awareness of issues surrounding disability. Empathy, patience, good listening and communication skills are essential to this role.

You will be part of the SNAP Team who use The Family Partnership Model to work alongside families in setting shared goals. You will be supported and trained in the use of this model.
