UKCF are the membership organisation for 47 UK community foundations; the only national network of charitable funders with a physical presence in every part of the UK and the UK’s 4th largest funder.

You must be able to inspire us and our partners and spearhead our public affairs work, including through our National Delivery Plan to unite action to end digital poverty by 2030.

We bring together charities, corporates and government to address the underlying issues stopping families gaining full access to digital services such as education, healthcare and employment. We seek social change through our National Delivery Plan, whilst also delivering solutions in local areas that help real people and provide evidence for change. 

This is an exciting, high profile and fast-paced role, joining our small team and working alongside partners, National Delivery Committee members and our wider stakeholders to effect real change for people. You will report directly to the Chief Executive, working alongside our Head of External Affairs.

A big part of our social change ambition is delivered through our public affairs work; influencing policy makers so that our ambitions are shared with government, companies and with everyone able to deliver to our vision of a world where everyone is able to connect successfully with the digital world where and when they want to.  You will also be responsible for drafting white papers, analysing trends and data, and identifying new insights.  You will support our Industry Forum, working with existing and new members to broaden the group.

The DPA aims to work through partners in delivering to our core mission and, as such, we retain only a small core team with support from our PR agency. As such, you’ll lead on delivering our policy and public affairs work, from briefing MPs to developing our policy positions.

Whilst the role is remote based, you will regularly need to attend in-person meetings and events in central London (daytime and evening), as well as undertaking travel across the UK. Given the need to attend meetings in Westminster and Whitehall, you will need to live within commuting distance of London.

Key focus areas

• Building relationships with public, private and third sector organisations, including the wider DPA community.
• Working to convene and collaborate with organisations and individuals committed to ending digital poverty.
• Work with colleagues across local, regional and national governments and across political parties to advocate for policies to promote digital inclusion.
• Undertaking research and analysis to understand digital poverty and the impact of policies to address it.

They are looking for a Senior Finance Manager to support the management team to use financial information to plan and run services and the organisation on a part-time basis (15 hours a week) for up to 6 months.

You will liaise with the Senior Management Team, Budget holders and the external Finance operations provider. You will manage the contract for the day-to-day financial operations and work with the outsourced finance team to clear backlogs of sales invoices (working with SMT project leads), finalise raising invoices process/ sales invoice timetable, establish petty cash reconciliation process, establish new system for expenses and coordinate payment runs. You will also complete monthly pension contribution submissions and contribute to the production of financial statements and the delivery of a successful audit . You will collaborate with the wider organisation to ensure accurate financial management information, identify operational and financial risks, and determine methods of mitigating the risks. You will perform any other reasonable tasks required by the CEO.

This role requires proven experience of using insight and analysis to provide trends, inform and drive business decisions and experience of formulating, overseeing and reporting on operational plans, including KPIs.

The successful candidate will have a strategic, collaborative and solution focused approach to support excellent service provision and fiscal responsibility. They will also show demonstrable innovative ability; using data and insight to inform recommendations for improvements to products, processes or activities. We’ve grown a lot over the last 15 years and our weekly community meals now run in more than 85 towns and cities across England and Wales. This role is vitally important in supporting our growth - we have plans to reach 100 Community Meal Projects by the end of this year as well as launching new initiatives that will help us support more families and children. 

The post holder will work closely with the Head of Marketing and the wider marketing team to develop campaigns and plans that will get as many people as possible talking about FoodCycle’s work, enhance our visibility and become the leaders in delivering and promoting community dining.

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. Purpose of the Senior Communications Officer role:   

As Senior Communications Officer, the successful candidate will be a creative, agile and impactful professional, who will play a pivotal role in shaping Women’s Aid’s communications campaigns, working closely with the Communications Manager and the Head of Media, Brand and Relationships. • To lead on planning, drafting and implementing a communications plan for Women’s Aid key communications campaigns such as International Women’s Day, 16 Days, as well as wider organisational projects, incorporating press and social media and providing media support as required.

• At least two years experience working in communications/journalism/publications or similar. 

• Experience of liaising with a variety of individuals and organisations of all seniorities, internally and externally.

• Experience of online communications/websites/social media, including Content Management Systems. 

• Experience delivering public-facing campaigns with a range of stakeholders.

As an Area Manager you will give leadership, direction and guidance to the staff of Medaille Trust to ensure the provision and development of a high quality service in line with the Trust’s Mission, Values and Strategy.

You will have a good understanding of the CQC framework relating to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.  You will carry out quarterly assurance audits in all safe houses ensuring any appropriate action is taken where necessary.

You will line manage, induct, mentor, coach and support Service Managers.  Additionally, you will ensure that any complaints, grievances and disciplinaries are investigated and responded to in an effective and timely manner in line with Medaille Policies.

Although the post is home based, the post holder will be expected to travel frequently to our safe houses within the South and London areas with some overnight stays.

You must have previous experience in a relevant sector or experience of working with adults that are vulnerable.  Experience of managing staff, carrying out line management, supervision and appraisals is essential.  Additionally, you must have experience of setting up Service User Engagement groups.

About the role

We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. A new training contract with the Department for Education will support this outcome. 

This role is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to understand what being a kinship carer actually means, what choices are available to them and how to access the information and advice they need for their kinship families in England. 

You’ll facilitate our online introductory training workshops for kinship carers, alongside a kinship experienced colleague. 

You’ll join a new team – Advice, Training and Information who will be resolute about creating a positive and impactful learning experience for all kinship carers in England. 

A strong facilitator and communicator, you will need to be (or become) a Zoom whizz, confident in using breakout rooms and all the extras, calm under pressure (sometimes technology lets us down) and able to deliver exceptional online workshops and training to small and large audiences. We’ll also ask you to support one-off in person training occasionally. 

Being interactive, engaging and able to read the ‘online’ room are essentials for this role. You’ll be curious – and always thinking about how you can improve your delivery and the experience for kinship carers. We’re building a team who is open, focused on the needs of kinship carers and who are looking to continuously and positively improve. 

As part of this new training service, you’ll receive all the training and development to support you to succeed in this role. This may include overnight stays as part of induction and training. 

What you’ll need to achieve in this role:

Key responsibilities:

· Deliver and lead exceptional online introductory training workshops to kinship carers in England (individual target - between 40-50 over a 12-month period). Confident and frictionless use of Zoom (including breakout rooms and other tools) to deliver a high-quality training experience. 

· Consistent approach across training experiences, following manualisation processes. 

· An in-depth understanding of kinship care in England (we’ll provide training and support). 

· Ensure KPIs for service delivery (including feedback and evaluation) are met including kinship carer experiences (90% service user satisfaction). 

· Occasional face-to-face training delivery (for regional roadshows where appropriate). 

· Ongoing continuous development of training resources and delivery using insight, data and participation from kinship carers. 

· Ensure training is accessible and adapted as required. 

· Be comfortable being a ‘face’ for the service in promotion and online resources. 

· Take part in creating online content, including being confident in front of the camera to produce video and verbal content to add to our online resources, advice and guidance. 

· Contribute to online resources as required. 

· Take accountability for using Salesforce effectively as our case management system to support service delivery learning, high performance and evaluation. Ensure excellent administration in your delivery, keeping to deadlines. 

· Work closely with Advice Service, Peer Support Service and Programmes teams to create onward referral pathways. 

· Work with local authority partners to create regional content for online introductory training workshops. 

· Ensure tone of voice, language and brand are in line with Kinship guidelines. Contribute positive active learning and proactively create opportunities to understand kinship carers needs for training (using learning logs). 

· Contribute to case studies demonstrating impact of training services alongside ongoing insight to influence policy and campaigning development.

We know kinship carers are strong, capable and fiercely determined to ensure they get what they need to support their kinship family. And we want to support them to feel confident and empowered to do that. A new training contract with the Department for Education will support this outcome. 

This role is pivotal in supporting kinship carers to understand what being a kinship carer actually means, what choices are available to them and how to access the information and advice they need for their kinship families in England. 

You’ll be part of a team delivering regional roadshows across the country. You’ll help facilitate on the day, presenting to kinship carers across England. Alongside roadshows you’ll deliver introductory training at local peer support groups. 

You’ll join a new team – Advice, Training and Information who will be resolute about creating a positive and impactful learning experience for all kinship carers in England. A strong facilitator and communicator, you will need to be great at presenting content to kinship carers. You’ll need to calm under pressure and able to deliver exceptional in person workshops and training to small and large audiences. 

Being interactive, engaging and able to read the room are essentials for this role. You’ll be curious – and always thinking about how you can improve your delivery and the experience for kinship carers. We’re building a team who is open, focussed on the needs of kinship carers and who are looking to continuously and positively improve. 

As part of this new training service, you’ll receive all the training and development to support you to succeed in this role. This may include overnight stays as part of induction and training. This is a role that will need to travel and we’re happy to discuss how this could work best if you have kinship caring responsibilities. You will not be responsible for logistics. 

What you’ll need to achieve in this role: 

• Co-delivering exceptional in person introductory roadshows to kinship carers in England (16 over a 12-month period) as part of a delivery team. 

• Leading exceptional in person introductory workshops to peer support groups in England (individual target - 20-30 over a 12-month period). 

• An in-depth understanding of kinship care in England (we’ll provide training and support). 

• Consistent approach across training experiences, following manualisation processes. 

• Effectively facilitating roundtable discussions (as part of the roadshow format). 

• Supporting consultation events with kinship carers to support co-design of the service. 

• Ensuring KPIs for service delivery (including feedback and evaluation) are met including kinship carer experiences (90% service user satisfaction). 

• Ongoing continuous development of training resources and delivery using insight, data and participation from kinship carers. 

• Ensuring training is accessible and adapted as required. 

• Be comfortable being a ‘face’ for the service in promotion, in person and for online resources. 

• Take part in creating online content, including being confident in front of the camera to produce video and verbal content to add to our online resources, advice and guidance. 

• Contribute to online resources as required. 

• Take accountability for using Salesforce effectively as our case management system to support service delivery learning, high performance and evaluation. Ensure excellent administration in your delivery, keeping to deadlines. 

• Work closely with Advice Service, Peer Support Service and Programmes teams to create onward referral pathways. 

• Work with local authority partners to create regional content for in person introductory training workshops at peer support groups. 

• Ensure tone of voice, language and brand are in line with Kinship guidelines. Contribute positive active learning and proactively create opportunities to understand kinship carers needs for training (using learning logs). 

• Contribute to case studies demonstrating impact of training service alongside ongoing insight to influence policy and campaigning development. 

• Actively contribute to a delivering high performance across the team. Commitment to personal development.

What you’ll bring (your experience): 

Essential experience, skills and abilities:
