Mental Health Crisis Intervention Worker

Part-time role of 30 hours per week (£17,225 pro rata) available.
The Crisis Intervention Worker will be working closely with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or episodes of psychological / emotional distress. The main purpose of the role is to assist individuals through appropriate person-centred interventions to be able to address and help de-escalate their immediate crisis experience.
Listening to individuals in a crisis will be a key aspect of your role and involves focusing, observing, understanding, and responding with empathy, genuineness, respect, acceptance, non-judgment, and sensitivity.
About you:
Our client is looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience;

Previous experience working in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives either in a paid or voluntary capacity.

Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants that can lead to poor mental health.

A good working knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding legislation.

Extensive knowledge of the local community within which you are working.

Excellent communication and team working skills and the ability to effectively utilise the technology available.

Good knowledge of both Microsoft Word and Outlook.

The ability to work flexibly including evenings and weekend shift patterns.
The Talking Space Service operates from 5pm to 11pm seven days a week throughout the year. Employees will work on a rota basis in their Erdington location.

Service Manager: Complex Needs Women's Service
Our client, a leading homelessness charity based in London, are looking for a Service Manager to lead a team of Support Workers in a complex needs service for homeless women in a central London borough. The service supports up to 18 female rough sleepers referred to service by local authorities, street outreach services and StreetLink.
Candidate duties:
- Line managing a staff team of up to 8 staff including both day and night support workers in a service with a total of 18 clients
- Conducting staff supervisions, appraisals and performance management
- Working with the service director to deliver the support required for clients both operationally and day to day
- Liaising with external stakeholders and promoting the service across the borough
Candidate needs:
- 2 years experience in line managing staff ideally in a complex needs service for clients experiencing homelessness
- Experience of staff performance management
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of building links and relationships with external support providers and local authority housing services
- A DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months or registered to the online update service

Complex Needs Worker: Women Experiencing Homelessness
Our client, a leading homelessness charity based in London, are looking for a Complex Needs Worker to work in a complex needs service for women experiencing homelessness in south London. Due to a rise in female rough sleepers, and the need to safeguard the most vulnerable in society, a new female only rough sleeper service has been commissioned to provide support and ongoing casework to vulnerable women engaged at the service with the aim of rehousing clients into more independent accommodation. Clients will be referred to the service via homeless assessments services, street outreach teams and other referral pathways.
Candidates for this role will need:
- Experience of working with the homeless and ideally complex needs women and the challenges the specific client group face
- Experience of working in a homeless assessment capacity
- Resettlement experience and knowledge of housing options
- DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months or registered to the online update service
Candidate duties:
- Offering advice and guidance on housing and resettlement related issues to clients
- Overseeing the casework delivery for around 4 clients within a supported housing unit
- Conducting needs and risk assessments and putting in place well-being and risk management plans
- Presenting clients with resettlement options
- Assisting clients to obtain their welfare, housing and related rights
- Referring clients on to relevant specialist support agencies for their needs
- Multi-agency working on the clients behalf to deliver the best support package possible

We are working in partnership with the Pontesbury Project, who are looking to appoint an experienced Registered Care Manager (NVQ level 5 qualified) to help lead the service, and ensure the continued growth and development of their care provision and maintaining outstanding quality care.
Pontesbury Project is a local charity providing care and homes to adults with learning difficulties in a caring, fulfilling, meaningful and nurturing environment. The Project now cares for around 16 residents, has 13 properties, and employs around 50 staff who provide high quality, specialist, person centred support to individuals some of whom have severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviours, many of whom require 1-to-1 support.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for care to help lead the service. The new Registered Care Manager will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, playing a significant and valued role working alongside the Nominated Individual and Trustees to ensure the service develops, continues to perform at the highest-level and adheres to all legislative requirements. In addition, the successful candidate must meet CQC Registered Manager requirements.
You will have:
- Experience of a working as a care manager or looking to take the next step in your career
- Excellent communication skills, (oral and written) enable to work closely with families, service users, team leaders, and staff
- Excellent understanding of Care Quality Commission’s regulations and standards
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, and accurate record keeping in line with all legislative requirements

What is the reablement service?
A highly focused 12-week intervention which involves one to one community support, to support Service users to recover and help to overcome issues in their daily lives that impact negatively on their mental health and wellbeing.
The primary focus of the service is to enable service users to remain independent in the community and to facilitate discharge from psychiatric wards.
The Role

The Project Manager will responsible for the effective management of our city reablement service. The post holder will line manage the support workers and referral coordinator. Working closely in a team with the Service manager and wider operational leadership, the post holder will provide day to day management and assist in the development of the services.
As the Project Manager you will have a variety of duties and responsibilities which will include but are not limited to:
- Recruiting, selecting and inducting new colleagues Managing performance through supervisions, development plans and CLEAR conversations
- Managing work place health and safety risk assessments and practices in line with regulations
- Meeting statutory and organisational quality requirements and regulations
- Develop, monitor and meet designated cost centre income and expenditure targets
- Contribute to wider organisational development initiatives to develop and improve services
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work in partnership with other organisations.
About You
You will be passionate about supporting people with mental health needs. You will be able to motivate the team, empowering them to achieve great things across the service. You will need experience in mental health and case management. Minimum or working towards NVQ level 3 or new QCF Diploma level 3 in Management or Leadership, Health and Social Care, Housing or another relevant qualification or experience at Level 3.
You will work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, however there may be expectation to work some evenings up to 8pm and occasional weekends and bank holidays.
