About the role
Come and join our small but brilliant Membership and Learning team. We have an ambitious strategy to strengthen the network through growing a culture of continuous learning, improving member insight and developing targeted learning.

Key Purpose:
Contribute to the coordination of assured services at RABI and support with the administration of the Service Delivery Team liaising with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

Beyond the Streets is a small charity with a big determination to see routes out for women selling sex in the UK. We are currently looking to recruit a Research and Impact Officer. About the role
We are looking for a pro-active forward-thinking individual to join our team and co-lead the Smart Works centre in Reading. The role requires excellent organisational skills, the ability to work across a breadth of projects simultaneously and strong leadership skills.
Reporting directly to the Chair of Trustees for Smart Works Reading, the Centre Manager will have responsibility for the operational and day to day management of the centre.
In practice, the role will support the delivery of the Smart Works service to unemployed women living in Berkshire by liaising with our referral partners and booking appointments, whilst also working with the Trustee Board to raise the money needed to fund the work of the charity through various income streams.
Given the breadth of the role, it is essential that the role holder is able to prioritise and delegate effectively.
The role would be based in the Reading centre, and there will be occasional evening and weekend work as the role holder will be expected to attend fundraising and partnerships events. We are looking for someone to start as quickly as possible.
Smart Works Reading is part of Smart Works Charity, and there will be some travel to London and liaison with the HQ team, as well as participation in regular meetings, phone calls and conferences with other Smart Works centres across the UK.
Duties and responsibilities
- Building excellent relationships with corporate and community partners, generating awareness and income of c. £165k for the centre across grants, events and corporate fundraising.
- Writing high-quality grant applications, culminating in successful submissions to the target amount of £50k.

Our new Skills Share Newport project aims to build community connections bringing together groups of people to share their skills through volunteering; whether that’s cooking, mending bicycles, or getting to grips with technology. The project will operate across Newport and will be led by the needs, wants and interests of the local communities – bringing together young people and older people to build skills, make meaningful connections across generations and reduce feelings of isolation that can exist regardless of age.
Key Duties
- Recruit, interview, induct, train and support volunteers.

Role Overview
As Family Centre Manager you will play a vital role in the leadership of our church and charity’s community ministry to local children aged 0-11 and their families. You will co-ordinate the day-to-day delivery of the centre’s activities and services, ensuring that delivery is responsive to the views and needs of local parents, carers and children while meeting the contractual requirements of our funders, and ensuring that staff and volunteers are working effectively to support positive outcomes for children and families.
Working with the Fern Street Steering Group, you will also help maintain the centre’s long-term sustainability, this will include maintaining existing partnerships, oversee fundraising efforts and ensuring that adequate resources (people, finances, in-kind) are available to support current and future areas of activity. This will also involve maintaining and developing strong engagement of the congregation and wider staff team of All Hallows Bow church in the ministry of the centre.
You will also take responsibility for overseeing Fern Street Family Centre’s spiritual life and mission - by nurturing a healthy team culture of prayer and mutual support and ensuring that our Christian values and mission are embedded throughout our work.

About you
You will be a friendly and capable leader with experience of delivering quality programmes of learning, play and/or support for children and families. You will have experience of managing projects and people to achieve key project outcomes on time and to budget.A degree or significant experience in social work, community development, mental health, education, youth work, child development or similar field is desirable.

As Projects Officer: Neighbourhood Food Model you will lead on specific projects within the wider Neighbourhood Food Model. Your role will be to grow collaborations, facilitate groups and workshops, and coordinate action. The Walworth Neighbourhood Food Model is an ambitious, long-term approach to tackling the root causes of food insecurity in our neighbourhood. This is a key role with a significant level of responsibility, working in a small dynamic team, at a crucial time in the development of this ambitious programme.
