Social Action for Health is a community development charity which works with communities towards justice, equality, and better health and wellbeing. We work across East London to address health inequalities and support people to live longer, healthier, more fulfilling lives. We have a portfolio of projects at any one time, currently including peer-support and befriending programmes, working with parents and people with long-term health conditions, advice services, a weight management project, and a community research project. All of our services are delivered in an accessible and culturally appropriate way, often in community languages and facilitated by experts-by-experience from the local community. You can read more about Social Action for Health and our current projects on our website.
This is a challenging time for Social Action for Health. The current COVID-19 crisis is having a significant impact on our beneficiaries and the way our charity is both funded and operates. As a relationship-based community development organisation, all of our work is traditionally face to face, however, the Covid-19 pandemic is driving us to rethink and reshape our service delivery models. We are looking to diversify our income streams away from contracts and embrace digital transformation, whilst ensuring that our offer is appropriate and accessible to the communities that need them most.
If you are passionate about fundraising with the creativity and drive that could raise a minimum of £350k per year from grants, trusts and foundations and are comfortable with a hands-on role managing as well as generating your own results, we would love to hear from you.
