To provide strategic and operational leadership for the development and delivery of services and evidence their positive impact for people using the services and other stakeholders. Management • Responsible for ensuring that best practice is followed in all aspects of people management from recruitment onwards in respect of employees and volunteers including regular training and supervision. • Be directly responsible for supervising members of the senior management team and other key staff as appropriate • Responsible for ensuring the requirements of the sponsorship scheme are met • Ensure tasks and individual objectives are fairly allocated to ensure delivery against the business plan. • Be accountable for quality, including with Trustees the risk management of all operational aspects of the charity business and for the accurate capture of data for reporting, record keeping and invoicing. • Oversee the development of systems, documents and procedures to support the smooth running of services.
Responsible for financial management of the charity including payroll instructions and pension administration. • Develop and produce relevant information for the monthly board of Trustee meetings. • Obtain all necessary resources and equipment. • Ensure the regular monitoring and evaluation of services, with a drive for continuous improvement. • Maintain any accreditations that have been agreed by the Board e.g. IiP

The Active Wellbeing programme (AW)
The Active Wellbeing programme is a specialist mental health exercise referral programme. This programme is designed to engage and promote health and wellbeing to people diagnosed with a severe mental illness (SMI). The programme involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with severe mental health illnesses (SMI) which can include: Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Severe Clinical Depression.
The Active Wellbeing programme – Learning Disabilities (AW)
The Active Wellbeing programme is expanding to work with adults with learning disabilities who also have a long and enduring mental health condition. The programme LD involves delivering a 10 week, 1:1 personal training programme to clients with long and enduring mental health conditions and individuals with learning disabilities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver a weekly physical activity session for each client considering safety and progression with each of the 10 sessions.
- Monitor clients exercise intensity, type, and ability to ensure clients are exercising safely.
- Monitoring clients mental wellbeing during sessions to ensure safety and communicating any concerns to the line manager.
- Responsible for arranging weekly sessions with clients (and in some cases carers alongside)
- High level of communication between instructor and client (in some cases carers or support workers) to confirm session times and locations.
- High level of communication between instructor and line manager to report any concerns with a clients mental and physical wellbeing during sessions.
- Provide motivation and encouragement for clients to engage in sessions and stay engaged in their programme.
- Responsible for the setup of equipment for outdoor or online sessions.
- Responsible with checking in and out of sessions with the admin team to ensure safety of both instructor and client.
- Responsible for checking the safety of equipment. If equipment is faulty and needs to be replaced, responsible for communicating this with the Active Wellbeing programme coordinator.
- Responsible for administering first aid in the event of an accident and ensuring that safety requirements are met in all areas.

Are you an RNC or RNA/RNLD with paediatric experience looking to work on a one to one care basis and build your experience in palliative and end of life care? This is a wonderful opportunity to work in partnership with hospitals and community nursing teams to deliver care to a range of children and young people with a variety of complex health conditions. As well as providing clinical care, you will also develop play and recreational activities to provide appropriate stimulation to the children in your care. We will support you in your learning and development and there is the potential to gain experience in outreach work.
As a Senior Nurse you will be a team leader to a small group of nurses and HCAs (Play and Care Workers), taking responsibility for line management. You will lead your team in acting as key workers to a small caseload of service users and act in a link role allocated to the team, for example Infection Control or Clinical Audits. You will be managing shifts, providing leadership to the team to ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with Richard House policies and procedures.
We’re looking for someone who is empathetic and resilient, can work under pressure, and can communicate sensitively with our families and colleagues. Experience managing junior nurses and leading shifts is essential. It would also be great if you have a mentorship qualification and experience dealing with children with challenging behaviour.

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager or an exceptional Senior Support Worker/Senior Practitioner with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, to support the Registered Manager and Team of Practitioners in delivering outstanding services in our all-female therapeutic unit in SW8. A good communicator, you will be confident, forward-thinking, passionate and authentic. You possess applied knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
We have a strong track record in providing excellent semi-independent provision to young women aged 16+, and in scoring outstandingly in local authority service reviews. We are currently transitioning to a Children’s Home and are approaching the final stages of our registration with Ofsted.

Do you have?
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience in a Senior Practitioner or Deputy Manager role in a Children’s Home setting.
- Good working knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards and how they should be met.
- Strong skills in report writing, risk assessing, care planning, and casework tracking.
- Practical knowledge of tools, techniques and resources that can be used to support young people in areas including: CSE, DV, EET, life and self-care skills.
- Passion matched with a commitment to making a difference to young people in care through kindness, collaboration, and creativity.
- The Level 5 Managers’ Diploma. If you do not hold this qualification, then we will support you to achieve this within the timeframe set in the Children’s Homes Regulations.

Where and when do we need you?
We are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to work within our established finance function. In this role you will be reporting directly into the Finance Director and will play a key part in driving the service improvements and compliance at an operational level. You will operate as a critical member of the organisation through the management of the finance function, effectively leading the management of day-to-day financial operations and ensuring the needs of internal and external stakeholders are met. This will be done through working as a true strategic partner within the charity, advising and consulting with managers on a wide range of issues ensuring the delivery of key financial objectives supporting the charity in meeting its goals for growth and financial stability.
In this role you will be involved in exciting and rewarding things like:
- Leading and developing a fantastic team - Undertaking line management responsibilities for allocated members of the finance team undertaking dedicated coaching, development, 121's and any day to day support that is required to ensure that finance colleagues are supported and developed appropriately and that we deliver an outstanding service both internally and externally.
- Advising and Consulting - Producing high quality monthly financial reporting which is accurate, timely and meets the needs of managers and directors using financial information extracted from the appropriate finance systems to assist them to manage their departments' budgets and understand budget variances.
- Data analysis and Reporting - Leading on the year-end audit and accounts closedown process through the collation and analysis of appropriate financial information and liaising with auditors to ensure agreed deadlines are met. This work will contribute to the production of best practice statutory reporting and provide internal and external stakeholders with assurances that the charity's finances are well managed.
- Managing Compliance and Risk - Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations and legislation by monitoring controls and procedures and making recommendations to adapt to changing circumstances. This is to ensure that any risk associated with non-compliance is assessed, rectified and managed appropriately moving forward in order to ensure that any impact to the charity is managed effectively.
- Delivering Excellence - Supporting the delivery of the Finance strategic agenda including taking the lead on the development and monitoring of the annual department Continuous Improvement Plan. This will involve undertaking a SWOT analysis of the Finance function in collaboration with colleagues in order to assess the current environment and produce a development plan to address shortcomings and aim for excellence.
- Being a subject specialist - Leading on VAT issues on behalf of the organisation in conjunction with external VAT advisors. Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns, review existing processes and consider the implications of changes in VAT regulations in order to ensure the charity is complying with legislation and maximising charitable reliefs available.
Successful candidates will be working a 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, you will hybrid work between home and a minimum of 1 day per week at our office at Lakeside in Portsmouth.
All candidates must have a full driving license and have access to the use of a car. Successful candidates will be required to provide an enhanced Disclosure (DBS). This disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
You and your specialisms
Management roles within the charity are pivotal in achieving our mission of making a difference through passionate care, support, and education. To support this, you will be required to have, or be working towards a minimum of the following qualification levels:
Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CIPFA)
- Advanced Excel spreadsheet skills

- Ensure a focus on account management, with an overview of all regional partnerships, working with colleagues to deliver a coherent approach to partnership development and external relationship management.
