At FearFree we are proud to deliver services across the Southwest, and we're excited to be expanding our offer, with the introduction of a new Education, Training and Employment (ETE) Service. We have a full time vacancy (37 hours per week).
As a Support Advisor you will be a fundamental part of our team, supporting the delivery of the ETE programmes and the development of the service. The service will provide a range of trauma-informed and person-centred support, focused on supporting those impacted by abuse to access education, training, employment or volunteering.
You will be responsible for providing trauma informed support through group work and 1-1 support. Working alongside a team of practitioners across our geographical patch in Devon. The project aims to:
- Increase volunteers in FearFree and support people to access volunteering opportunities externally.
- Support individuals impacted by abuse to access training and employment.
- Help people access bespoke apprenticeships and internships.
- Support service users to increase and advance work related skills, such as the development of CVs, financial management and IT skills.
- Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.
The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in working with vulnerable people and an understanding / experience of the ETE sector. They will have an understanding of trauma informed practice and ideally have experience implementing this within group and 1-1 settings. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of Employability skills and will demonstrate the ability to proactively engage with both local employers and local support networks/organisations to promote the skills of the individuals they are supporting.

Main responsibilites and tasks
- Work closely with the service manager to set up and develop the service, supporting its ongoing growth and expansion.
- Triage and assess service users to consider their suitability for the ETE Service.
- Utilise a trauma informed approach to help people return to or access ETE.
- Support individuals to increase work related skills, such as the development of CV writing, financial management and IT skills.
- Work with a diverse client group, creating bespoke action and support plans for each individual.
- Facilitate group support sessions in addition to one-to-one support
- With support and advice from the Service manager, support and help develop new groups following a trauma informed approach.
- Build and further developing relationships/links with ETE providers and corporate partners to expand the provision for our service users.
- Risk assess those you are supporting and take proactive action to address risk and safeguarding concerns.
- Play an active role in the recruitment process of volunteers in addition to management of volunteers ensuring they are kept up to date and involved in the organisation, alongside able to support our service users.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed where required and safety plans are completed on time and regularly.
- Work closely with the services across FearFree, developing close working relationships and supporting clients who may be accessing support from our other services.
- Record all contact with service users and abide by confidentiality requirements.
- Record and monitor data to enable the service to be fully evaluated.
- Car ownership and travel across our area is a requirement for this role.

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse and victims of sexual violence. We provide responsive, victim focused, and trauma informed support and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.
The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.
Following a successful trial in several surgeries, this service is now being rolled out across Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay. So, this is a very exciting opportunity to take ownership and be part of an innovative new service, delivering real improvements to the local community.
You will work across a specified number of GP practices, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.
You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.
Key responsibilities:
- To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic violence/ abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV) advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced DVA/SV, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate.
- To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients who are affected by DVA/SV.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with general practice teams.
- To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around DVA and SV to practice teams.
- To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer.
- To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians.
- To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes.
- Provide in-house training & refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV).
Advocacy and support work
- Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
- Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice.
- Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
- Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users.
Practice-based work
- Arrange dates for refresher training sessions with practices.
- Deliver DVA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
- Promote awareness of the experiences and needs of people affected by DVA and SV, particularly in relation to their health.
- Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team.
General
- Attend and participate in required meetings.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

The Role

- Work closely with the Head of Relationship Fundraising and other fundraising colleagues to ensure that all fundraising activities are well-coordinated and contribute towards the overall fundraising strategy.

- Develop and execute marketing and promotional campaigns to raise awareness of legacy giving opportunities within the organisation. - As a children’s Residential Support Worker, you will work as part of a residential childcare team providing support for individuals with their physical, emotional, and social needs with an emphasis on promoting independence.

Our specialist teams within these homes have an outstanding track record in achieving longstanding positive outcomes for these young people.
About you & Qualifications
- Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience in a similar background, but it’s not essential as full training will be provided.
- Following a successful 6-month probation period, you will undertake a QCF level 3 or 4 qualification with support from an assessor and supervision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll be expected to liaise with other staff, parents/carers and professionals.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, taking the lead when required, maintaining & encouraging open and honest communication.
- You’ll be writing reports, so a good standard of written English and IT skills would be essential.
- Transporting children / young people to an activity or school is a requirement. A driving licence that has been held for 12 months would be desirable.

We are currently seeking a dynamic practitioner to join our adult perpetrator service, working predominately with men using violence and abuse within intimate partner and other close family relationships, and working closely alongside integrated victim/survivor support services and partner organisations.

Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), a division of Richmond Fellowship since 2018, has been a leading provider of Respect accredited community perpetrator interventions working to stop domestic violence, increase safety for women and children, and reduce harm to families for over 30 years.
In your role you will need an excellent understanding of the nature of domestic abuse/violence and its effects on women and children. You will have relevant experience of providing one-to-one and/or group-work behavioural change interventions, responding robustly and supportively to challenging and harmful behaviour with adults from diverse backgrounds to reduce risk and facilitate change. You will have an excellent understanding of Safeguarding procedures and be confident working both independently and as part of a team, working closely and collaboratively alongside partner agencies such as Victim/Survivor services, Children and Families Services, Offender Management services and more.
You will have opportunity to play a key role in DVIP’s violence prevention services, working in partnerships with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective community responses to domestic abuse, in line with RESPECT practice standards. You will be responsible for risk-managing a caseload of domestic abuse perpetrators, delivering intensive interventions on a one-to-one basis, as well as co-delivering structured group programmes for individuals who have been abusive towards an (ex)partner or family member. You will pro-actively engage those using abuse, conduct interviews to assess risk and suitability for intervention, and coordinate with relevant professional partners to increase safety to victims and children. Day to day, you will work flexibly across a number of locations, including regular days working co-located within Local Authority Children and Families Services, Offender Management services, Substance Misuse services, Health services or other relevant or referring services. In this rewarding role you will also provide specialist DA support to other professionals working with families experiencing abuse, through provision of expert consultations and training delivery.
You will be competent and responsible to work independently and flexibly, including some evenings, within any London Borough where DVIP is contracted (predominantly South London currently), for part of the working week. You will be comfortable managing your own workload and related admin, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a range of people about sensitive and complex issues, including the writing of professional reports.

Hounslow is an innovative young person's service. The service is spread over 6 sites in Hounslow and supports a broad range of service users including Looked After Children, Care Leavers, Teenage Parents as well as other young people being referred in for multiple support needs.
The service works closely with statutory services to provide wrap around support for each customer within the service. Support is provided by a large and skilled workforce with specialist roles including a therapist and mediation worker, as well as an enhanced frontline staff team of 16 day support workers and night support workers, an apprentice, peer mentors and night concierge across a number of sites.
This service support those with medium to high/complex needs to achieve the very best outcomes including tenancy sustainment, ETE, learning and enhancing life skills, managing mental health and emotional wellbeing and a successful move on from the service with greater independence, confidence and resilience.
The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day management of the service, including line managing the relevant front line staff. You will lead and develop the skills of the team and will work closely with the contract manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets.
